[PUZZLE] Glyph #29

I think Glyph # 29 needs it's own thread.

It was released on Monday, August 7th 2006, 16:39:40 EDT
It was the only glyph released that day.
Apollocandy went live the following day.

I'd like everyone to list where they've looked for glyph #29.
Just one post per person, as you continue to look, just update your first post.

My guess... it's a red herring. Too many people were complaining about the slow rate of glyph releases, so now TPTB can (figuratively) point to that one and tell us we aren't working hard enough.

My guess is that glyph 29 is hidden inside the wrapper of an Apollo Bar. It was 'released' that day because that's when it was printed and stuck inside the bar.

no, i think it is in the sprite commercials...

cause in the one with the flowers you can make out two visable words during the commercial in the top left hand cornet... if you have a DVR and and tape one, check that. I noticed it while at work today and was just watching one of our many big screens at sears. :p

I don't think it's a Willy Wonka Experience, as much as it's on the bar itself.

You'll notice if you click through the upwrapping of the Apollo Bar on the site that there are letters across the bar itself. They don't appear to me as to spell out Apollo, so my guess is it's the code.

I hate to be the nerd that points out the continuity error but Apollo is funded by Hanso and so they shouldn't really help its downfall. No Hanso means No Apollo, they're not going to publish glyphs on their own chocolate.

All the glyphs so far have come from trusted sources and other anti-hanso groups. Even Jeep eventually came round to our way of thinking.

Speaking of continuity, I'm confused. Are ABC on our side now? Funding a glyph to be published on a big screen in Time Square? Are we meant to question these things or just be dazzled by how cool they are and not care about the story?

I dunno... maybe ABC didn't fund the advert surrounded by other ABC adverts... Maybe Speaker did it.

I disagree. Mittlewerk may be evil and on the inside, but I betcha there are a LOT of employees at Hanso and it's subsidiaries who are feeling betrayed by all of this stuff coming to light, who thought they worked for good. If one of them was to slip a note in a chocolate bar, therefore using Hanso's campaign to hasten Hanso's downfall, isn't that just revenge?

Also, Verizon was in bed with Hanso and we got the ROT guys out of it. They used to talk about how Mittelwerk was around all the time. Plus, lest we forget, this whole experience started from three things funded by Hanso- their advert (on ABC), their phone line, their website. The theme seems to be "underground rebellion brought to you by the (unsuspecting) man!"

#29 has been found by someone who isn't sharing. Can anyone here write a script that automatically checks the saved sequences at HansoExposed.com so that we can extract the new password from someone's sequence, if they save it?

Nevermind. Ixalon's page does just that. Thanks Ixalon!

Apparently found on the side of a car! It's a wonder we didn't check there before now.
Here's a lovely photo of it.

The car was parked outside of the Entertainment Weekly Headquaters. But I'm not sure why this has been dubbed number 29. Couldn't this but number 42? This is getting increasingly confusing.

Jeff "Doc" Jensen had possession of and entered code #29 -- CONFIRMED:

Okay... here is Jeff "Doc" Jensen's response to the negative criticism (attacks?) people have been giving him...

Hey, Lost fans,

I just wanted to clarify my position on "playing the game," and my unfortunate and unintended appearance on the leader board.

1. My appearance on the leader board was unintentional. Trust me. I'm probably not at liberty to divulge the behind the scenes of all this, but let me just say that for various reasons, I needed to make sure the glyph/code was active before I exposed it to the public. That the process of corroboration has put me on the leader board is purely incidental. There are other means at my disposal to confirm the activation of the clue, but due to time constraints and other limitations last week, entering the clue was the quickest, most efficient way to check. I really wanted to get the clue out there ASAP, and in fact, was really hoping it could have been discovered prior to Monday morning.

2. Today, I plan on asking the administrators of The Lost Experience to remove my name from the leader board. I'm with all of you: I don't think it's appropriate for the "Doc J" entity to be both playing the game when in several ways he has been PART of the game.

I feel badly that my clumsy way of having fun and playing with y'all has rubbed some of you the wrong way.

(Can we be friends now, Ninja?)

"Doc J"

A strange answer, no doubt.
