[UPDATE] mysterytown Aug 11 & 14 - Peter Meets WotW

Update at http://mysterytown.com/unsolvedmysteries.php

August 11th

Looks like I'll be meeting with the Woods Walker tomorrow in Aglaura. It's really short notice, but I think I'll be able to swing it.

I know waiting for the rest of the story will be agonizing for a few of you, so in the meantime here's a consolation prize - a pic of that stop sign I mentioned a few posts back.
(picture below)
If you look way in the distance, you can see that the track just kind of ends. This is supposed to be a private railroad, but I just have to wonder where the train is.

Update:
Quote:
August 14th

I've been putting off this post for a little while, mostly because I was asked to keep some things secret at my meeting with the Walker on Saturday. But I figure I wouldn't have been able to even meet the man if it weren't for the readers of Mystery Town.

So first off, I'm OK. I've looked into the face of the Walker and survived. All drama aside, though, the meeting was actually a little anti-climactic. I guess was expecting some huge revelations, or mysterious secrets, or something, and instead what I got was - well, I'm not quite sure.

I tried my best to get the Walker's real name for you all, but no luck. He wants me to call him "Roman," no last name. Obviously I did see his face though, and he's a little older than I expected, with longish blond hair. I don't recall ever seeing him before.

He told me a story, of sorts, and gave me a few other things too, even though I'm not sure what they might mean. He asked me to keep those things confidential, and deliver them personally to a couple of people.

But I don't have time to sit here blogging the story up. I just heard about the emergency in Aglaura - they think a little girl is lost in the Pine Barrens. I'm going to go ahead and head down there to see what I can do to help. I don't know that area particularly well, but I have spent a lot of time in the Barrens, so I'm hoping my experience will be helpful.

Last night in chat Drizjr pointed out that there is an image posted on the comic's fan art site that was placed there by someone named "Roman."

Here is the link to the Online Image.

And here is a smaller version, in case the online one goes missing.

If someone would please, check that image above with a color filter or destegger or some other magical, marvel of technology, it would be greatly appreciated. Smile

Uhmmm... something like this?

Maybe someone who had already written Peter should send him this images, lets see if he recognize the Roman Smile

I sent Peter a link to the pics of Wes on the "cast" page of Dale's comic book and also the picture of the tree - which could either be a "W" or a devil's pitchfork.

I can so send him this set of pics.

Haven't heard back from him but will if I he recognizes it as Wes.

Great minds think alike Sandra. Very Happy I sent the "cast" link for Wes to Peter yesterday morning.

{edit at 9:21 pm}
Sorry everyone, but reading back through Dale's Journal I found the following info that proves my theory wrong on this page.
Quote:
a middle aged guy with longish dark hair

And WotW has:
Quote:
longish blond hair

Pay no attention to what's below the line it was a theory I had before I found the above in Dale's Journal.

{edit Aug., 17 at 6:40 pm}

On second thought, Keith has been hiding out since Dale made that mention of the dark hair on July 11.
Therefore, it is feasible to think that he also wanted to change his appearance and bleached/dyed his hair.
Since that might be the case, the theory below this line still holds true.
---------------------------------------

Just wanted to add another theory to these:

It could also be Keith:

Keith aka WalkeroftheWoods aka Roman met with Peter to give him the remaining masks and other stuff he had because he, Keith, was coming back to Aglaura to turn himself in. So that in case he got arrested the stuff would be safe with Peter who could then continue to get them to some of us.

{bold is mine}
Quote:
He told me a story, of sorts, and gave me a few other things too, even though I'm not sure what they might mean. He asked me to keep those things confidential, and deliver them personally to a couple of people.

And from the following two web pages, we know that Keith also has long hair.

http://www.three-o-seven.com/april13.html
Quote:
He kept looking at me though until I got up to leave, and he said something about my long hair as I walked out.

http://www.three-o-seven.com/done.html
Quote:
That seemed like a good idea, but didn't quite work out that way, as all the rent-a-cops there seemed particularly interested in the longhaired old guy walking around by himself.

[More Spec]
Okay, I'm going to add this to this section since this is were Roman first gets mentioned.
But what got me on this path was what Rogi said here.

Quote:
Going back to the paper with the reference to "Gus" Allen...
[Spec] Could ALL of Aglaura be sitting atop a particle accelerator?
The one at Brookhaven, where Gus did most of his research was a linear accelerator,
but more modern designs (I think) are circular.
The six dots would be acceleration points within the device.
Anybody have a background in this type of physics and care to spec on what isotope would be generated given what we have?

While researching Particle Accelerator once again black holes and worm holes pop up but more important
I found out there is such a thing called a Roman Ring related to worm holes.
There is not a whole lot of info available about them but it goes something like this.

Quote:
A Roman ring, in theoretical physics, is a configuration of wormholes where for each individual wormhole the time difference across its mouths is such that it may not allow a closed timelike curve (CTC), or 'closed-time loop'. If these wormholes and their mouths are arranged in a suitable configuration, a closed time loop will be again possible.

For example, an Earth-Moon wormhole whose far end is 0.5 seconds in the "past" will not violate causality, since information sent to the far end via the wormhole and back through normal space will still arrive back on Earth (-0.5 + 1) = 0.5 seconds after it was transmitted; but an additional wormhole in the other direction will allow information to arrive back on Earth 1 second before it was transmitted.

A Roman ring is a very stable configuration. The chronology protection conjecture postulated by physicist Stephen Hawking fails to prevent the formation of such rings.

Take a look at this image of a particale accelerator and compare it to the one Rogi linked to above.

And while we are on the subject you can't have a particle accelerator without the mention of matter and quarks.
And there just happens to be six (6) types of quarks (strange, charm, top, bottom, up, and down)

But more important to answer Rogi's question:
Quote:
what isotope would be generated given what we have?

I believe the answer is GOLD.
Quote:
The artificial production of gold is the age-old dream of the alchemists. It is possible in particle accelerators or nuclear reactors. Since there is only one stable gold isotope, Au-197, nuclear reactions must create this isotope in order to produce usable gold.

Gold synthesis in a particle accelerator is possible in many ways. The Spallation Neutron Source has a liquid Mercury target that will be transmuted into Gold , Platinum and Iridium , which are lower in atomic number.

Is that what Marzent is up to? Making Gold!

Good job (Once again) Sylvia. You've found a lot of info that tends to fit what we see. Assuming the goal is transmutation of mercury to gold (Possibly discovered as a side effect of the EGG experiments?)
That would answer a nagging question I was pondering. On the technical paper, there are depictions of two devices. At first I assumed it was two versions of the same device. Then, I made out the terms "Evaporator" and "Condensor". Terms used in heat exchanging systems like air conditioners. Condensers are also used in some situations to remove moisture or steam from the air. So, theoretically, the lower drawing could be a representation of the cooling system for a nuclear reactor.
This is pretty wild spec as it could just as easily be a cryogenic system for use in cooling superconductors like you'd find in a particle accelerator.
I mention the reactor cooling because that'd be about the only way they'd be able to power the accelerator in that area. The cranberry bogs would make perfect cooling water ponds.

Let's also not forget that the text of the "This World" e-mail came from the guy who made the Philosopher's Stone, the key artifact in alchemy, the goal of which is transmutation of something-or-other into gold.

That's it Rogi, bogs = unlimited reusable coolant.
[Spec]
Which might explain all that haze, fog, steam, in the images with water, for example Roman's tree (above) and this from DITB.

{note: I'm not saying this is all the Roman image is trying to say, it's just too darn obvious to be overlooked.}

Basically water is pumped in, used to cool the accelerator, then the now heated water is pumped back out into bogs as new cool water is pumped in, and the cycle repeats. Now as the hot water renters the cooler water of the bogs and the cooler atmosphere steam or fog is formed and since bogs contain a lot of Tannins from vegetation that would explain that tan color.

But, and this is the good part, peat which grows on bogs, is notorious for absorbing Mercury from rain water. Historically, mercury entered the atmosphere from active volcanoes, but today thanks to our pollution (fossil fuels) our atmosphere contains even higher amounts of mercury.

And with that, I think we covered both the cooling of the accelerator and the availability of Mercury needed for the manufacturing of Gold.

Now the image below can finally be explained. I have wondered about it since the beginning of this game. With all that pollution filling the air, the steam collecting the pollution and as the steam cools it turns back into water falling back into the bogs allowing the peat to absorb even more mercury.

Dang, I hope that came out right. No I haven't referenced this but it's easy to do a search to see what I'm saying is plausible.

So Marzent has the perfect system set up to accomplish their goals.

Ready made pollutants create mercury, steam grabs mercury and puts it into the bog waters where it then gets absorbed by the peat and all the while the bog waters are cooling the accelerators. So therefore, we might be able to say that worm holes are created as by products in the manufacturing of gold and Marzent has the best of both worlds.

Oh, and to add another note. I haven't done the research yet but maybe cranberries also play a bigger part in this or are they just a cover up.

Grey matter go asplodey!

That's surely a lot of coincidence, if it's not the "correct" answer.

It all makes pretty good sense, but just keep in mind that sometimes, a cranberry is just a cranberry. Even if it's a giant, radioactive, mutant, man-eating, cranberry. Smile

I think we've got a whole long way to go to catch-up on the mystical/spiritual front. Or, maybe we'll find out that Dale is certifiable and all of the rest was a manufactured mytho that has taken over the collective reasoning of the town.
