[PUZZLE] Chocolates Glyph and Mystery

First off: Does anyone here know sign language? If so, your help is dearly needed with this video clue.

Here is how it was found:

On this Flickr page, someone noticed an update: a message which said, "call tom k yegato" underneath a picture of the Chocolates Glyph.

Alternative path: You can also go to sublymonal.com and enter "chocolates," which takes you to a page with strange music, and a screen on the left which says, "call tom k yegato."

The letters in "tom k yegato" are representative of phone numbers of course, and that turns out to be 866-593-4286. If you dial this number, you get a British voice who delivers the following message: "Sod off, I'm watching the tube."

Someone was searching YouTube for new videos -- inspired by the use of "tube" in the phone call -- and they came across the video I linked to above. It has tags "chocolates" and "rblake."

I believe it is legitimate, since the video was posted on 8/15 -- before "chocolates" worked at Sublymonal. Therefore, I'm asking for some help in deciphering what the signing means.

One additional note on the trail: the poster on YouTube is CHARLABEELK, and anagram for RACHEL BLAKE.

I do not speak American Sign Language (ASL), but it appears that the guy in the Chocolates video is using a few signs and lots of individual letters - very fast and very low resolution. He also gestures several times to the glyph symbol on his T-Shirt.

I am have tried reading the letters one at a time using this reference http://www.lifeprint.com/ (click on F, then fingerspelling).

In the first 10 seconds of the video, I have :

1 sec : touches finger tips, alternating hands

2-4 sec : R A C H E L

5 sec : he gestures to glyph

6 sec : E _ L ...

7-9 sec : A P L E (C) N D Y ... (Apollo Candy ?)
... (then I thought a "J" but it looks like index finger rather than pinky,
so perhaps a number sign - who knows, maybe this is ASL for "dot COM")

10 sec : then sign hand in shape of "A" touches single finger on other hand

So, basically, after about an hour, I have
"Blah RACHEL Blah-L APOLLOCANDY Blah"
and I gave up there. It's just too fast and too blurry. I don't see how even someone fluent in ASL could see all the letters, but maybe someone with more patience can read enough and guess enough to figure out the message. Rumor has it on the Fuselage that someone's friend with 1 semester of ASL thought they saw the word "GLYPH" in there somewhere.

I really wonder if they mean for the video to be so small/blurry as it turns out to be on YouTube.

Here's a copy of the video with the sign language, slowed to half-speed. It was posted by Tapdawg.

Another one from Tapdawg at an even slower speed:

You'd think that in my job of web design for charities, I'd know at least one person fluent in ASL! BSL wouldn't be a problem...

Nice puzzle though - best glyph yet.

My friend says that the pointing to mouth and alternating hand means mix.

A group affiliated with http://thelostexperienceclues.blogspot.com has come up with this translation:
Quote:
"I am Mel, friend of Rachel. (Friend of Rachel - I sell Apollo Candy.) Apollo Candy conned Mittlewerk (or vice-versa) into having chemists run tests on...[unclear finger spelling]. Hackett found something important, but Mittlewerk wouldn't allow the results to be given to the competition (he hates the competition), they had a huge argument, and Hackett took...[more unclear fingerspelling] and found a new person to give the information to, who will distribute it. (something about giving away, reference to apollo bar giveaway?) I have to warn (help) people."

Yet another translation, this time from firesign3000 at TLEC:
Quote:
Friend of Rachel. I'm _el. (name?) Apollo candy first attack Mittelwerk, have chemist run tests on d__ff__? c__d? . ___ (spelled word hidden in front of glyph on shirt, might be name) find something important but Mittelwerk can't. Hates competing. Big argument. ___ (name?) goes with _p__k? (name?), finds new glyph to give Lost. ___ (illegible sign) time, must save people.

So, as a refresher, Mel is Mel0drama. And this subplot may actually be bearing fruit...or candy bars, at least. So does this make the EDC the competition, or Lewis King Laboratories, or what?

This does make the Apollo Candy giveaway even more interesting. I've asked a friend to go, now.

For reference, here's Lostpedia's info on Dr. Hackett:
