[EMAIL-PUZZLE] Mystes - Your Failure

Quote:
The face of man hides the flaws he wants others to never know. He can't begin his days with them exposed to the world. One mask is not enough; the average man wears many.

With only the world as his witness, he stands alone in this real conviction, truth does indeed matter, yet fails every opportunity which he surely could employ to make others believe as well.

Yet man can be both maker or follower, model or source, healer or destroyer. This universe begins and concludes with man's imprint. He is the reason this world exists, and he is the answer for every question. Perfect by nature, his flaws his fate decide.

Those who have both desire and knowledge shall proceed.

In the differences the message lies,
the answer's hidden before your eyes.

Okay, where have I heard this phrase before?
Quote:
The face of man hides the flaws he wants others to never know.

I'm thinking whereever this phrase is repeated is our other message we need to find the difference with this one.

Well, it was in Simon's last message. In fact, all of Simon's last message is repeated here. I see only two differences:

(1) The subject line (previous was "Your Success"; current is "Your Failure")
(2) The last two lines are new:

Nothing regarding "differences" is jumping out at me, could it just be the references to "nature" and "flaws"

"man" seems obvious, but doesn't seem to lead anywhere.

Maybe the answer is the difference between desire and knowledge?

Knowledge http://www.selfknowledge.com/53102.htm

Desire http://www.selfknowledge.com/25331.htm

My other idea is we are looking for the difference between maker or follower, model or source and healer or destroyer. I the difference Good and Evil? Is the difference nothing more than a choice?

This to me means, that we are made perfect by nature and our only flaws come from things we experience. Meaning that a new born baby has a perfect mind, is neither good nor evil and has no flaws. As the baby gets older it has more experiences and acquires more knowledge yet becomes more flawed every minute. So I am thinking maybe our answer lies in a baby or some sort of innocent or virgin? I don't know I am just throwing out ideas here anyone follow me?

Meaghan?

Also... Maybe the differences it's referencing is from the stuff at mythosphere? I can't quite remember where I exactly I saw it, but I remember somewhere it being mentioned that some of the messages Subject #6 has been writing are different from their original sources.

I don't have an answer, but doing some research, found the following:

---Grade------------Lesson------------------------Task
---Raven-----------Humility-------------------Serve Others
---Nymphs------Self-Examination---Uncover Internal Secrets

As 'the answer is hidden before your eyes' I tried the obvious: "Man is the answer to all the questions" (it's in the message)
I replied with that sentence, but I received the autoreply message we received the other time, the 'Congratulations, Nymphus' one

Some brainstorming:

Well, the obvious (though not necessarily correct) method would be to contrast the "Your Success" and "You Failure" emails. The most obvious difference is the subject line, as was already pointed out; perhaps we need to find what the difference between success and failure is.

There are formatting differences between the emails also. The first paragraph of the plain text email is indented in the "Failure" email but not the "Success" email. On the HTML side this shows up as extra <div> tags. The plain text of the "Failure" email has extra asterisks around the "Those who have..." line - on the HTML side there are extra tags - non-breaking spaces in their own <div> section with <em> applied. This seems minor, but I thought I should mention it just in case.

Another difference between the messages is the time. For me, the Success email is dated 13 Aug 2006 06:57:42. The Failure email is dated 18 August 2006 19:38:07. This is a difference of 5d 12h 40m 25s. The times and differences are probably different for different persons, but I'd bet they are all in the five day range. I've tried variations like fivedays, 5days, 5d, etc. at mystes.com without success so far.

Heres the thing. The puzzle has nothing to do with the second email, its a hint. The puzzle is the first email, we didn't solve it, so they sent us a second email with a hint. So we're not comparing the two emails to each other to find the difference. The "difference" is something in the first email. Now, I keep coming back to the maker/follower stuff. They don't seem like opposites, more like blank is to blank, as blank is to .... Other than that, I got no spec.

Hmmm, I never even got the first email, but I was sent the failure email.
Is there a new page at mystes.com? Possibly with a similar message as the emails?

Because I can't find those phrases in any of my searches on the net.

Here is my take on the puzzle.

First taking Success / Failure if you remove all letters that are repeated you are left with FRAIL.

I sent an email to frailSPLATmystes.com, at about 2:30pm on 8/18/06. So far it didn't bounce nor did I get an auto response.
Quote:
What is a person who looked success in the face but saw nothing but failure? He is FRAIL.

Second, using the words maker or follower, model or source, healer or destroyer, pairing them and removing duplicate letters. Then anagram the left over letters.

maker / follower = mak follow
model / source = mdl surc
healer/destroyer = hal dstroy

wall old from troy such slam adk

==========================

Maker / model = akr odl
Healer/ source = heal souc
Follower/ destroyer = follw destroy

A well chakra old soul destroy
Old soul dwells chart kra oa
Old soul wall chart sorry eak
Old soul well at chakra sordy

=========================

Maker / destroyer = mak destroy
Model / follower = md folowr
Healer / source = healr souc

Made story flow her soul rock mad
Her mad soul made flow rock story

Not that any of these are the answer, but maybe it will help someone else to see something.

Just posting some fodder for thought.

Both "Your Success" and "Your Failure" are 11 letters (4+7).

If the "differences" refer to the paired words, here are some word plays on them.

Maker/tailor---->tailer/Follower
Maker/ creator or God...... Follower/ disciple

Model/ original....... Source/ origin
Both Model and Source are synonyms of "matrix". (see here)

Healer = therapist....... Destroyer= the rapist

That's all I got. Rolling Eyes

The different colors are my small attempt to try and group similar things in each section. Or, alternatively, that I've found interesting.

"the answer's hidden before your eyes."

Could that mean the stars coming from the eyes of History?

In chat, we were able to find these....

FOLLOWER= Taurus/ Aldebaran
HEALER = Asclepius/ Ophiuchus
DESTROYER = Perses
