[UPDATE] Mystery Town, Aug 17 - Roman gives him book pages

Quote:
August 17th

Helping out the seekers this Monday really was an experience, unlike the Devil Hunt. I don't know if you heard, but our plan worked, and the little girl and her mom were found. It was real in a way I'll never forget. But enough about that.

I really wanted to tell you guys more about my meeting with the Walker, but I wasn't sure if he'd keep contact with me, so I emailed him and told him about my readers and how helpful you guys have been. He wanted to know if you were sane - imagine him of all people asking! - and now that I've assured him that you're all firmly in touch with reality, I can tell you a little more.

The Woods Walker told me to call him "Roman" at least for the moment, so that's the name I'll use from now on. Roman isn't a very straightforward guy. He talks about the world as though reality could change any second and we wouldn't really know if it had changed. He said he was going to tell me a story of what "might have been."

He told me about a man who wrote a story that wasn't really a story in books that isn't really a book. He told me that the book held immense secrets if only one could unlock them. And he gave me that story to give to a few people in Aglaura. They weren't really in a book - they looked like pages from a book, except not torn out. What was on them...well, it certainly isn't a continuous story. It's all stuff about the Pine Barrens and the Jersey Devil - you know, kitschy tourist stuff. I was sure there was a puzzle there but if there is I can't see it.

I don't think I'll get in too much trouble if I tell you that one of those people was Sam. I tried to give her the package on Monday, but she was swamped organizing the search and rescue and she apparently wouldn't speak to anyone non-City for the rest of the night. (By the way, in case you were wondering, yes I do feel like a moron for trying to find Diana's phone by looking at my own signal strength. I was so close too.)

So in short, that's what I found out. I'm hoping I'll learn more when I get to give Sam her present from Roman - I think she holds some key that I'm lacking - but I won't get into Aglaura again until Saturday. In the meantime I've asked for an account on the Aglaura Intranet, because from what I've heard it really rocks. Also Sam is on there, so I won't have to rely on my crappy mail client to organize the meetup with her. Also I think it'll be a better system for me to talk to my readers. Be on the look out for my intranet name on the About Page when my account gets approved.

I'll make sure to get it up this weekend. I did a little creative editing to remove a few of my most embarassing moments. Wink

Mytery Town Peter is actually here right now so I've gotta run!

When you get the time, please post the recording of the council meeting. I can't wait to hear it.
Thanks

August 21st

Finally, an easy weekend. I spent the better part of this weekend in Aglaura playing Santa Claus to Dale Sprague and Sam. I dropped off two sets of the pages I mentioned but I didn't get any answers. Mr Sprague didn't have time to look at the pages but he said he'd write me if they spark any big revelations. Sam didn't seem to make anything of them either, but she did get this look on her face when she saw them, very confused and sad all at once.

I stayed saturday night at Sam's. Yeah, I know what you're thinking, and you're wrong. I got the couch. She told me that they're going out into the woods again to look for a cave someone found in the Pine Barrens thats full of weird machines. I hope they're going to be okay.

Also, I made scans of the pages and I asked Roman if it would be cool to post them here. He hasn't replied yet, but I think he'll say yes. Never can be too careful with a crazy woodsman on your back though.

[SPEC} Roman's pages are from Wes's Devil Book

Disclaimer: I just got back from camping for 5 days so if I missed someone already saying this ... well.... trout away I guess Laughing
[SPEC] Roman gave Peter pages from the 'book' Wes wrote about the Jersey Devil.... would be like Wes to 'hide' a puzzle or two in there.... explains Sam's look and sadness when she recognized them.... will be interesting to get a look at them, eh? (My money is still on Roman being Wes)
