[SPEC-TACULAR] Regarding Wormholes

[MAJOR TIAG]

OK, so, I know that a lot of the UK players were voicing at least mild discontent at the fact that the Cube ended up in North America. But, consider the following possibility.

The Americans, their numbers considerably lower than the English count, but still substantial, are given first chances at the Cube, in a race to intercept it before the new Perplexian gent who came through the wormhole last week. If they do NOT succeed, then the 3P operative hops a flight to Eng-er-land, thus giving the UK players their shot at it in a story-sanctioned cart-over, culminating in a final struggle between the O# people and their Perplexian fellow, and the Cube Hunters, with the Cube present and at stake.

[/TIAG]

My point is: just because the Cube came out in North America, doesn't mean that's where it's going to be picked up by the winning Hunter.

So, chins up! Very Happy
(Although it ending up in Jones Beach wouldn't be at all to my displeasure. Twisted Evil )

I hear that Gaspar! But you are totally right! It's the first one to find the website that says, "THE CUBE IS HERE!!! GO TO IT NOW!!" or maybe Kurt will email everyone saying"GO TO JONES BEACH NOW!!" or something. Obviously if some UK player finds this website, they will not go and say to someone who lives in NY and tells them that it is there.. obviously.
[TIAG]

Obviously someone has to win. Don't you see the [TIAG]! So it obviously has to be somewhere, say.. geographical. You know, places. I would have to say that Mind Candy said, "Hey guys, you wanna put the cube in the top of Mt. St. Helens, or maybe we will drop it into the smoldering hot magma!" or "Hey, lets go to the Gobi desert and bury it under a Triad camp, see what those guys will do to someone digging there" But of corse, it is obviously in Adrian Hon's back yard, waiting for a mass of people ringing his doorbell. But this is all a rant, and I leave my case. [/TIAG]

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Jones Beach, here I come with a shovel!

(Be careful with the spoiler, it may get UK players offended Twisted Evil )

*insert substatial raised eyebrow here*

I thought the whole wormhole thing was teh sneeky 3p flying lots of scary operatives over to earth so that people could claim that they'd been beaten up, and not the movement of teh k00b?

Could be anywhere, boys. Too early for anyone to be wailing and gnashing their toothypegs yet...

Those are my thoughts exactly, I never once though "Oh no, the cube is in North America" I thought, "So a wormhole got the cube here, I wonder where that wormhole came out".

I also don't think I've heard one UK player complain it might be in the US, possibly a couple but no more than that.

By the way, It's now been stated that there are as many US players as UK players. So you probably want to rethink your theory Wink

Uhh - no-one has ever said the Cube is in North America. The cube has been buried since the start of the game - not transported by this wormhole.

I'm confused as to where this came from?

Basically people think that because this wormhole came out in North America the other one did.

from a purely scientific pov, unless the equipment was already on earth to recieve a wormhole (ala stargate) the best the agents would be able to do is just aim the wormhole generating device at earth and hope for the best it where it ends up on the planet.

Re: [SPEC-TACULAR] Regarding Wormholes

I was basically just saying that, from a logical POV, where a wormhole opens has no bearing on a point of interaction or recovery.

Though, I was not aware of this fact. But, all the same, thinking in strictly TIAG terms, Mind Candy might have evaluated that UK players would remain a dominant majority (which, at the onset, would have been perfectly logical), and acted thusly as I spec'd.

But, naturally, it's all hypothetical; I am wise in that I admit I know nothing. Dunce
