Only if it's read with a false Cockney accent. And spelt with another 'U'. Wink

I'm not so sure that having the City Council breathing down the back of the academy neck is going to help the situation. If anything it'll just cause more problems while the academy falsefies or pretties up anything that could make them/us look bad before the city finds out. For example, if the city had been paying attention while we were hijacking certain satellites or making false phone calls, there could have been a bit of trouble.

Alright, A bit More trouble than there was.

While I'm confident that even we're not getting the entire story of what goes on at the academy, I think it's one of those things were we have to weigh the pros and the cons. If we have to sacrifice a bit more knowledge about the inner workings of the academy for an inquery from the city council, what we find out might not be worth what we gave up to get there.

I have to agree with Dranioth on this...we could have dropped a bomb on Perplex City with our outside- and inside-knowledge & speculation at any time. So far, the consensus seemed to be that this would not be a very fruitful thing to do, since we can't be certain about anything and this would cause a lot of confusion and uproar over there. Also, the council and the general public have always seemed a bit more on the reactionary side compared to our contacts at the academy.
On the other hand, maybe public pressure on the 3P could be a good thing. It could also lead to more support for the Academy and the CRT (Perplex City & Earth division). Provided the public believes any of it, of course...

most of the futures seem to be hints to a) stop looking so deeply and think more simply, try new tactics etc. b) perhaps wait as this week we will find something right under our nose and will meet someone important? and c) perhaps both or either of these are linked to combed thunderclap.

i nominate mikeyJ goes and chats up mme bianca to get some intel ;)

also - the protest sentinel vs. academy thing... reminds me a *lot* of the daily prophet in harry potter and the order of the phoenix at the moment - except we *know* sente is at least slightly dodgy and certainly no dumbledore to rally behind. but still, my loyalties lie with the academy, and as sceptical as the sentinel are, i believe everything they said in the statement - it just seems like the sentinel and the general population dont *want* to believe that the 3P might be involved and are as such looking to blame the bearers of the bad news instead.

therefore - as much as i think they might want us to support the academys protest in order to get more answers and progress the game - personally i'm disinclined to take the sentinel's side on this one. maybe thats just me taking TINAG a bit too far, i dunno ;) would you vote for nathan earlywine if he said he'd give us information about the cube? ;)

any ideas as to what we can do instead, to support the academy on this one?

rach =)

Must admit, that and the interview with Keers had me on the floor giggling like a loon...

So the Sentinel doesn't like what the Academy are doing? That's pretty much the role of the free press though, isn't it? I think it's worth us all signing up to their protest. A more open academy would help us, certainly.

Just out of curiosity, is this British humor?

I would call it tongue in cheek. But then I have not yet met Ollie, so maybe thats just how he is Smile

I find it very amusing that the Sentinel doesn't believe the worm-hole story. What would they believe?

Are they trying to tell us that combed thunderclap was just a way of cluing Library of Babel. Text here with a nice picture. (Could someone pm me so I know how to put those nice red hyperlinks in future).

http://jubal.westnet.com/hyperdiscordia/library_of_babel.html

"Oh time thy pyramids" and "library is bread or pyramid" both strike me. And of course 77% of children do know how to play pyramid.

Note that the British Library purchased 350 volume of Coleridge's work from the family yesterday (previously housed at family home Chanter's House in Ottery St Mary Devon). Also completely by the way, Clevedon where the Aeolian Harp was written has the oldest purpose built cinema.

Since I've got a hunch about Oxford I was anagramming the Bodleian Library and got Ordinarily Babel, which I'm sure has been done before and is of no use to anyone.

How funny and mature.

And yes - that really is just Ollie, Muffin. He is the best! Rolling Eyes

Seriously - the futures seem to be a lot more specific than usual this week. Maybe it is just me - but at least three of them have a direct reference to things that are going to happen. Worrying - I need to get ready for this "important" person I'm going to meet!

And I think we all need to start trimming our nose hairs for this thing we're going to find "under our nose".
