I'm just wondering why law enforcement seems to have sent someone to medical school in a gamble to learn enough to outsmart Synthesis? Why medical school? Thankfully, it seems like something that Travis, who is helpful when he can be, could answer, instead of relying on Synthesis to answer us.

That's if I'm even parsing that paragraph right. Something about that paragraph seems fishy, as if there's more than I'm seeing, or I'm seeing too much.

I am running out of ideas with this too, though.. It even occurred to me that this could be an image instead of words, but then again, maybe not.

Its probably one of those "magic eye" images. If you stare at it long enough it will just appear. sarcasm. Hopefully we hear from Travis tonight

Is it possible that their reference to looking at the micro and the macro means that we can't use the same code throughout the entire code? That there are two keys to solve it?

micro and macro? I don't remember what you're referencing.

A pet theory of mine is that the two number ending is the key for the preceding line. Each line seems to have a characteristic of itself, which seems to be consistent depending on the ending couple.

I have no more evidence than you do, though.

If you color the digits with 9 being black and 0 white I think it looks like a hat wearing chimpansee carrying a luggage in his right hand (bottom left side of the picture)..
I did it with staroffice (Find - Find all, and set font background, then replace all digits with spaces) but i don't have a suitable webspace for the picture at hand, so if you wanna see it yourself you have to do it yourself and i could be just hallucinating, too.
You might get a better grip of how the digits go around the puzzle, though.. Rolling Eyes

Can anybody provide that picture? Some of us broke types can't afford to get StarOffice to do it with. Laughing

I tried to do something similar (couldn't find an easy automated way with my text editor to do color) but it didn't look plausible to me. I could write a little Perl script to output an HTML file that should look identical, if you wanted. I personally don't see anything though.

To the original poster: Just the 9s and the 0s? Everything else should be blank? Or maybe grayscale, with 9 being black, 0 being white, and inbetween being shades of gray? That might look different than my little experiment...

All the shades of gray, with 9 being black and 0 being white, it isn't too clear even then, but i'm beginning to believe my eyes. Screwy
You should be able to do it with most other text editors too, like Word. I'll edit this soon, i'll post it to my scraps at deviantart.
Edit: And here's the link http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/38480570/ give it a little time if you don't see the picture right away, I think it is there. Very Happy

I'm getting about the same with a more uniform shade of gray distribution, and I must say that I don't see ANYTHING. Anyone else see a chimp?

I think I can kinda see an old-fashioned luggage piece, like the kind characters would carry around in those old classic cartoons, but other than that, I'm not seeing anything.

Talking to another one of my friends -who's name I've left out of this one as I'm not sure if he wants to be contacted- and he stumbled across this cypher, could be a HUGE clue given the character name of Synthesis and they are a group.

I can find the same quotes online that Snic/Snic's friend found. But so far nowhere wants to give a rundown of common methods of working these ciphers. It sounds REALLY promising.

Yeah, that was found on the Cryptographic dictionary, however no real good examples on common solves for it... So, I'm not entirely sure where to even start with it still. ;_;
