(Silly) Could this be the answer to Reimann

According to newsnight (dry boring uk news programme) a certain Gergori perlman, has won a million dollar prize and a field medal for solving some random hard maths hypothesis. He has however turned the prize down

see link
http://www.thefirstpost.co.uk/index.php?menuID=1&subID=692&WT.srch=1

Do you think this could be a sign!, maybe he will now start work on other unsolvable problems and then turn down the prize money for those to.

AHA i have solved reimann but i do not desire either the million dollars or the 60 perplex city points Twisted Evil

I know this is just a silly post, but if you read in the article, it clearly states he solved the Poincare Conjecture. If you look on the Clay Mathematics website, there are more than one millenium problems. We didn't get one this time, but at some point, someone will solve Riemann Very Happy .

If you read my post above i didn't say he solved the reimann hypothesis we were merely pointing out that there are obviously mathematicians out there capable of solving very complex maths problems! And then turning down the prize of a million dollars much like the prize for reimann
Which is odd but strangely admirable and we just felt other perplex city fans may like to be aware of that Rolling Eyes

So..does anyone have his contact details...?

He'll probably be bored stiff since he solved that problem. I know of just the remedy.

"Oh no please, take the card, it's a gift featuring a difficult mathematical problem"

..."I dont want the stupid prize.."

"No really, it's not a prize.. we need your help"

Perhaps the mathmetician in question is actually, the chappie that we're looking at finding for 'billion to one'?

That'd explain why there's all the sekricy... Very Happy

They did a bit on the fields medal (he turned that down too) last night on the Colbert Report. Man that was good stuff. Anyways, here's the guy in question. He turns down such things because (as stated in the wiki article) "he felt the prize committee was unqualified to assess his work (even positively)"

Like .. duh! Of course noone's qualified to judge! it's unproved! Therefore noone in the world at all is qualified to judge! Take the money and say thank you! Give it to orphans, or some poor math students if you fFeel fFunny about. sheesh.

or a keyboard issue...he's not the only person I've seen with this. Although he's the only active these days.

And maybe a better question is - Scott, why don't you edit your posts to remove the extra letters before you click ze button?

I don't know how official this answer is, but here's an answer.

Thanks UKver 2.0! It seems that's all the answer you're gonna get, Mindez.
