this puzzle makes my ears bleed.....
I like puzzles but I am just no good at them....
Well.... The past puzzles have been in Atbash and that type of periodic table substitution. I think that is where to start but that is not much of a starting point.
-this puzzle makes my brain hurt
EDIT:
I am not complaining I like the challenge. I like being stumped. When we find the solution we will all be like..."I don't understand why I didn't think of that in the first place"
This is fun stuff.

Agreed, I said the same thing in an OOG conversation I had with someone about this. I just know the solution will come to us and it will be a complete head hit desk moment.

I've been watching Justice Forsaken for a week now, and I must say, well written, and looks like fun! I'm just not convinced that Travis is the one we should help. I know the main ARG guy is the good guy, but why should I help someone who can't even get their kid when their wife was a stripper and a drunk. something fishy....

and as far as the code goes, i think we are trying TOO hard...lol!

If that was the only factor to consider, I'd agree with you. However, if Synthesis made it look like he was a corrupt cop, or an abuser, would any judge in the world award custody of Haley to him? Even an alcoholic porn star mother would be looked at as being better than an abuser father.

Even if they didn't make him look like an abuser, they could've just as easily made him look like a drug addict. If he can't take care of himself, he wouldn't get custody of Haley.

As far as the code goes, I honestly have no idea what it could be. I'm hoping someone with a bit more know-how in codes can figure it out.

I think I can kinda see an old-fashioned luggage piece, like the kind characters would carry around in those old classic cartoons, but other than that, I'm not seeing anything.

Wohoo! Thank god I wasn't the only one to see the chimp and luggage - The puzzle didn't drive me insane yet Razz
I also found his arm holding the luggage, and legs in the bottom, when pondering wether to post it or not.. Which is why I still dare to think of it as real..
When you look under both cheeks of his, you can find symmetrical shoulders, and the legs are quite similar, horizontally similarly placed with the hands..
Perhaps if Travis knew more about it.. Oh, and perhaps the old man theory is more plausible than the chimpansee.

/me feels amusingly stupid, posting a number-based picture others might not even see as a solve to a puzzle.. Oh well.. Rolling Eyes Laughing

Edit: I'm posting this to Travis at the blog as I have yet to see him or Synthesis online at AIM... Perhaps the suitcase/luggage is something Travis carried with him when moving and he isn't telling us everything?

if "she failed me in biology" was a hint towards the elemental table, then "she failed me in geometry" should be a hint towards the #'s right (i still don't see the chimp.)

His nose is 37 from left, 10 from the top,
Eyes two rows up from there

6 from left, 11 from bottom is a bottom corner of the luggage
13 from left, 5 from bottom is another
Around 20 left, 10 from down third, etc.

38 from left, 7 from bottom, his groin, legs going diagonal from there.

Try taking some distance to the monitor.. You'll find it.. Wink

I'll take the picture and try and highlight the mentioned coordinates. Once I do, I'll edit it into this message for ease of reference.

EDIT: No, the picture isn't finished yet, lol. However, it's quite likely that we're at least on the right track, and I admit, I can see the luggage case so I'm guessing the image is there. What could that mean, though? Synthesis giving us a picture of a chimp with a luggage case and a hat? Could it be a Curious George reference? Or could it be a way of Synthesis saying, "We know Travis is going into hiding." Which he is, but you guys didn't hear that from me. Seriously, he asked me to not mention that to anyone, including "my people" so...yeah. It would make sense, given that Synthesis, in all likelihood, considers Travis to be something of a primitive when it comes to "understanding". So the chimp could mean Travis, and the hat and luggage case seem to be a pretty obvious metaphor for traveling, so...

Honestly, I have no idea why Synthesis only seems to respond to certain individuals. Travis hasn't been on AIM at all since his last contact with me, so I don't know what to say there, either.

This seems like good thinking, I can see one flaw in it though. The periodic table is related to Chemistry and not biology, so I think it's very likely the whole lyric was just meant to get us thinking about science. I may be wrong about this -in fact I very likely am- however just some food for thought.

So she failed me in geometry is not so much about geometry as it is math.

That's my thinking as well, it seems to fit the pattern here. Just going to be a matter of figuring out which school of math. I've tried running it through several common numeric sequences, octal, base-64, etc. with no results. I'm still fixated on those numbers at the end of each line as a possible key, but what it is a key to is beyond me.

Yeah, math not being my strong suit (2+2=5, right?) I'll leave this one up to the "smart 'uns"...

Esteed, you are very correct in your mention that Synthesis is very picky when it comes to who they will repsond too. I saw them the last time I was online, and they refused to acknowledge me. I'm just waiting for our mystery person to show up.
