[QUICK REF] The Walls

Inspired by this post by Shad0 and Sandra's suggestion that followed, this thread is born to track the walls of Aglaura.
We have Dale's journal entry from July 7th which gives us another mission, besides finding the masks.
(bold is mine)
Quote:
"Still, we have nothing but hope, so it makes no sense to discard it now. You have a way of bringing change and creating ways, where none existed before. That is why he fears you. Others sacrifice themselves for you, or attempt to do things they would otherwise believe to be impossible, in your name. They are capable of tearing down the walls he has built around himself and the place he has claimed for his own. The truth is behind those walls and the only way to stop this is to remove them. As long as one mask or wall remains to protect him, he cannot be stopped.
<snip>"Some of those walls are precious to you and those you love. What are you willing to sacrifice? What are you willing to do in the name of belief?"<snip>

(I believe the "they" that Digitalis refers to is us.)
And from the same entry, part of the "All of this will soon be gone" poem..
Quote:
Six voices with one tongue will call
A secret hidden behind the wall,

The Walls:
1- The basement of Aglaura Library
2- The basment of the Hollow Needle
3- Brick wall seen at the end of Keith's cd/video in the cave

It could be speculated that each archetype/mask has a corresponding wall.
Library= Knowledge
Hollow Needle = History
Cave with machinery (possibly the Egg from Incunabula)= Technology

So, I expect that we will see at least three more walls.

What is not clear to me, is do these walls have to be torn down, or just breached?

The latest mention of walls comes from Dale's email found here http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=16187

Quote:

I'm wondering now if the Pine Barrens, the woods all around this town, are some
sort of symbolic "walls", behind which I'm supposed to find a secret. I wish
Digitalis were here to answer that question.

This is a very big wall/s. It's starting to look like we have walls within walls.

To add to drizjr list above as follows:
Quote:

Hollow Needle = History
Cave with machinery (possibly the Egg from Incunabula)= Technology

? Edge of Sight - The Unnatural Emporium = Mask of Nature ?

But I'm not sure if we are to consider this as one of the walls or not.

There is a SPEC in another thread that each mask corresponds to a person in Aglaura. I am more inclined to beleive that, it doesn't make sense to me that a mask would be made to represent a building. I am also starting to beleive that the walls we are looking for are not actual walls of a building but more like spiritual or mental "walls" or barriers. For instance Meaghan has put a "wall" up to Dale and doesn't speak with him much.

All she is doing is making CONNECTIONS and they do connect.

driz - I like the idea that there's more depth and other things that apply to each mask.

In Dales Journal from 7/7/06 he has this quote from Digitalis:

Quote:

The "they" are us and others in Aglaura.

So we have to remove the walls and also make sure we have recovered all the masks. Keith has never said he had all six, has he? And the tongue may be the last thread that holds the protective web together that "he" has created around himself.

I am glad you wrote that because I was thinking after reading it and came up with an idea. Maybe the masks are representative of more than just one thing. For instance they could each represent a person AND place in Aglaura. I definetly agree that the tongue holds some great importance, as Sarah said in her email to me talking about the mask of history, "If only she had her tongue, imagine what she would say to you!". I think it is great that we have so many great minds in these forums and we have so many different opinions. It is these difference of opinions that inspires us to find the truth.

[Edited to fix quote error - kona][/b]

4-The wall in the Unnatural Emporium (Perhaps associated with the mask of nature, as Sylvia suggested above; although the timing is off.)

Not sure whether to add this wall at Ash Grove Park. [spec] Which could go with "Sacred" since it was Digitalis' hangout. [/spec]
