[AIN] Sam: a grumpy f(r)og

Quote:
Sam,
A grumpy frog ?
Why?
Is it because Peter left, or because of what Peter left?
What did he bring you, btw?
Thanks for checking in on Sarah. Would it be too much of an imposition to ask you to go there and *see* if she's ok.
(People can hide their true condition in a phone conversation.)
You know, sometimes...reaching out to help someone else, can change your mood for the better.
It's ok to be a grumpy frog for alittle while, as long as you don't croak. Smile

Original Message from Sam Greene:
Drizabella,

She doesn't sound like herself, you're definitely right. I'm afraid to admit that I haven't really checked in with her since before the weekend. I'll call her and see how the library planning is going. I feel like I'm being such a horrible friend, Driz... to all of my friends. I've barely felt up to leaving the house for work in the morning, let alone call, email or even talk to anyone. Ever since Peter was here I've felt like I've been in a grumpy fog. Sad

Worried about Sarah.....
Hi Sam,
If you've seen Sarah's last blog entry, you understand why.
Something in that building is effecting her in the same way it effected JD.
Could you please, go over there and check in on her?
It'd be really appreciated.
Thanks,
driz

More from Sam:

Quote:
I'm sorry that I didn't get back to you sooner, Pilar. I just feel horrible, all over horrible. Since Peter left, I've not felt like myself... at all.

At first, I thought it was just a hormonal thing or maybe lack of sleep. But it's gotten so bad that I found myself confiding in Iris the other night. That's definitely not normal. And last night the Dobbster called me in the middle of the night asking why I hadn't posted the council meeting audio. When he told me to get it done right then, I snapped and yelled at him! That's so not like me, Pilar. What's going on?

Sam

P.S. Peter gave me a page from a book about the Pine Barrens. I don't know why this Roman thought I would be interested in it.

I think I'm going to talk her about Wes' bumper sticker.... and suggest Iris to try to contact him??

Ask her about the page. I'm thinking that may have something to do with her behavoir. Unless she's lovesick or something...

Am I missing something with the "frog" reference, or is that just a recurring typo?
We've talked about "fog" in some of our spec and Sam used the term, but the reply and the topic of this thread both use the term "frog"

Seemed to me when I read this, Driz just read Sam's message wrong.

I could be wrong though.

Good eyes Rogi. I read it as frog too. The thing is the brain seems to want to say frog instead of fog
when preceded with an adjective like grumpy. Who ever heard of a grumpy fog. But grumpy frog sounds normal.

Even after you pointed it out, my brain still wants to say frog. Could this be a hint showing us how we are missing things.
There is something about how we can read words by only seeing the first and last letters regardless how the inner letters are arranged.
I believe that's what has happened here.

Driz, assuming you copied then pasted the above message you got from Sam.

If so, Sam says:
Quote:
Ever since Peter was here I've felt like I've been in a grumpy fog.

And like I said, an easy mistake considering all the perplexes of this ARG.

I asked her to put the pages online asap just in case there is some hidden message or puzzle, like Peter suggested. And I suggested her to check if the pages are from Wes' book Rolling Eyes

I was pretty sure it was a typo, but again, after our spec on fog a couple of times and it being a fair odd choice of words on Sam's part, I didn't want to let it slip by.

Do you think she's post a copy of the page somewhere?

I don't like that Dobbs gets sick and then Sam does. Might be another way for Marzent to control people.

You are right, sir.
Sorry for the confusion. Embarassed
Have I mentioned how small the AIN text fields are?

/drizjr says, in her best Emily Litella voice......
"Oh... That's very different. Nevermind. " Smile

And to add to the list of recent sick in Aglaura, don't forget Peter.
Is there a common area that all three have been to lately?

Peter got sick after Mayor Dobbs took him to see the remains of the Library.
Then Dobbs got sick.
Sam got sick after Peter's recent visit.

(Remember, however, that post hoc ergo propter hoc is a logical fallacy.)

So far it looks like Peter got sick first then Dobbs then Sam.

So Peter must be the common connection.

He got sick just after being in the Pine Barrens on the Jersey Devil hunt when he visted the burnt Library building but Dobbs didn't. Then Dobbs gets sick at the time of the Council Meeting. Now Sam this past weekend.

Maybe, we need to find out what all Peter came in contact with out there in the Barrens other than just railroad tracks.
