Has anyone else attempted to make this thing? I think there were some errors on the card (or the transcription), but I don't feel like going back through it all. I'd like to see someone make it out of real Legos (Actual colors might be a stretch). Maybe now that Rand0m updated the Silver Summaries we'll see some creations. Fun card.

Oh, and if you do make an attempt with real legos or graph paper or whatever, the orientation for the pieces is always the same - meaning all the long sides of all the rectangles will be parallel. And yes, that rule did make for some odd piece choices - like a row of 16 1X1's when a couple 1X8's would do.

And for the latest copy of the lego CAD software, go here. Feel free to post your MLCAD elephants and bananas too.

My first silver solve with no help/hints. Woohoo!

Once I figured out what the numbers meant, used this:
http://www.lego.com/eng/factory/design/
to make it. Pretty cool program. What was interesting was that the default orientation of the bricks in the program matches the puzzle exactly (no rotation of the pieces was required). Explains why at one point there are 16 grey 1x1 bricks in a row instead of 2 1x8 bricks. The 1x8 bricks would need to be rotated 90deg.

Here's my model:

Not sure if the link will work or not for others. Also, I had to change a few colors due to color availability with the program. It actually lets you create the set so you can order it, complete with illustrated box and printed assembly instructions. Way cool.
