Just for reference, here's the Wakefield Accelerator entry in the crypto backdoor, and here's the thread on Henrik's notes to Anna on previous missing parts.

I've e-mail Kurt quickly to suggest looking the other nicked parts too, but not expecting to hear much back Smile

Yes Hyperzz, that is the CRT. Now that Kurt has proof that someone ordered the parts from that team. This can lead to anyone in the team, except Kurt of course! My bet would either be Sente or Anna. Please don't slap me for the latter one! She was the position in power at the time of the ordering of the parts, so she has to be mentioned

My first thought (if SP:487 is indeed the CRT) was Aiko... I don't like the cut of her jib... but then I thought no, perhaps she's too obvious because she's not really been involved with the story properly, apart from the little Recon incident, and the 'shadowy background character' ending up being an evil mastermind is a bit, you know, crap. So then I thought well, what about Von?

There he is all happy and smiley, doing puzzles for the SF Connection, 'ooh look at little Von, what a nice young man' 'bless him, the little Earth-geek, how lovely' that sort of thing, when all of a sudden he turns around and his eyes are gleaming red and he cuts everyone down with his earth-replica limited edition authentic lightsabre!!

Well, it could happen...

I can't believe that Special Project 487 is the CRT, because if it was, wouldn't Kurt have been a whole lot more upset than he seemed to be? I mean, I know *I* would fly off the handle pretty badly if I knew one of my coworkers was a traitor who -- indirectly at best, but quite possibly deliberately -- caused the death of another coworker...

My vote goes to either Viendenbourg (since we know Sente is involved there for some possibly nefarious scheme) or simply a project we know nothing about...

Ok. I need some help figuring this out. One thing that has been bugging me is the affliation of Vadik or V with the third power.

http://story.perplexcity.com/archives/2006/07/turning_the_tid.html#more

When was it mentioned before this that he was? And does that mean that everyone else on his crew(like Bernard Holyoke) was working for the 3P? if so, what do we make of Monica Grand's statement that they "never held it, it was already gone" ? Does that mean the 3P never got it then? Are we looking at someone else?

Also, does Kurt's assumption that the parts were going to Viendenbourg mean that they are also trying to build a portal? And that soe other group has beat them to the punch because someone else stole the parts first (e.g. the 3P)?

I do think it's quite likely that Sente is building a portal out at Viendenbourg. Primarily as a means to get the cube back to Perplex City once it's found.

What I suspect, and given I've only recently read all the blogs so it's likely I've missed something, is that someone (Sente?) found out that V and his team were going to attempt a steal on the cube, so he arranged for someone else to get there first. A 'lesser of two evils' approach, knowing that although it'd be a struggle to get the cube back, at least the 3P wouldn't have it.

Probably utterly wrong though.

Ed Zepp: Those are excellent questions.

I think the original association of Vadik or V with the 3P was established through the Receda Trail which led to the 3P groupware manager - V is shown to be the number 2 person in the group. This wiki link has links to the emails between V and different 3P agents on Earth:

About V generally see : http://perplexcitywiki.com/wiki/Vadik

I would assume that everyon on the crew for the theft of the Cube could be said to be in the employ of the 3P. I don't think they are necessarily agents or members of the 3P on an ongoing basis. (Although that only applies to Claire Castille as Holyoake and Monica are dead. )

What I make of this statement is that someone, knowing of the attempt to steal the Cube, got to the Cube first. I think that means the 3P didn't get it, but we don't actually know if the person who took it is a 3P agent.

Right now, we are looking at the person known as "Combed Thunderclap", who claims to have buried the Cube on Earth.

I don't know if we have a direct answer to that question yet. I think people are assuming that they were building a portal - but I don't know if the parts could have been used for some other kind of project. We don't know what Special Project 487 - Axiom was all about yet.

Yes, if the Academy was trying to build a wormhole, it does seem they were beaten to the punch by the 3P as seen in the San Francisco event and the aftermath announcement by Sente. But, it is possible the Academy created a wormhole and we don't know about it yet.

Sente's statement is found here: http://perplexcityacademy.com/office3.html
