Wait a second, how did laylasweetieSPLATgmail.com get email for this anyaSPLATiol.ie person???? I am so confused. Does anyone think this is anything? why did my ingmae character get such strange email?


I took all of the mis-spelling and grammar mistakes and put them together. It seemed weird how something so important would be so important.

I got these letters

WHOIRIF

there might be more though.
At one point the person misses a word.

Laso this funds is used twice. Did he mean these funds or did he add an s there on purpose.

I went to the site linked (www.spacecolonyone.net) from their profile to register and once you are registered it displays a countdown.

http://x5.ct0r.net/ is where you are redirected.

Does anyone know if this is an ARG, or if not, what it is all about?

Hi All, Recently I have been getting some odd e-mails, they all come from people I dont think I know, have the header 1 and contain the same type of message, the last one was from a Kristina Heath <autoren@1000augen.com>
and the message was:
Hi, friend!
Error on ///

New line
THE_BAT3

But the reason I am asking here, Is that none of them sem to be sent to me, the e-mail listed is w.brynSPLAThotmail.co.uk, the others, which I can prolly post were to w.chanSPLAThotmail.co.uk and w.boshSPLAThotmail.co.uk.
None of these are my e-mail address???????????

Welcome to the wacky world of spam. They don't even bother being sophisticated about it sometimes! I get spam addressed to JNabcdSPLATaol.com and I can see the entire CC: list of screen names they've sent it to. The email header protocol is so loose and so open, people fake stuff in it all the time. Sender doesn't have to match the Return-to address, and the displayed name doesn't have to match the actual link. It's a travesty, born in the innocent days of the internet and never upgraded. (Someone stop me before I *really* start to rant!)

Nos, if you have ARGs listed as an interest on myspace, then it must be an ARG.
They added me on myspace, too and I have it listed as an interest.

It appears to be a project by the University of Washington in mtvU's Digital Incubator programe.
