Also, it was suggested in IRC by deku, Crippl3, and others--there may be something to the order in which the letters appear. Because you can't easily scrub back-and-forth in a Flash file, I made a video capture of the Flash if anyone wants to try this path. I didn't find much in a cursory look, but then I'm about to go to bed.

The fact that it's on the Academy's website suggests to me that it was put there by someone within the Academy. The last bit of the text does imply it's someone who's been on Earth.

If it IS someone from the Academy, they can't be on Earth now, if we believe this statement to be true:

i cant think of were to start on this one the kanji is less then clear and the mesage is more then confusing perhape sente may help considering its on his site and stuff
we defently need more of that discusion

deku, the kanji things are letters turned sideways. If you look, they might just say Waking if you could see them going out from the middle line.

The person who's speaking seems to feel responsible for someone's death by not having spoken up earlier. Perhaps this person feels that Anna's death is his/her fault?

Noticed some weird artifacts in Bri's video which turned out to be the encoding, but used the same technique (looking at my screen from a high angle...) to check out the original Flash. The white background seems to be more than just white - you can just about see some discolouration at the bottom when looking at it straight on. (This could of course just be a poor display...)

Still, I whacked the contrast up on a screen grab to get the attached image. Kind of odd how there are some blue spots, but these might just be artifacts of something in the Flash? Couldn't see anything obvious in it, but seems like quite a deliberate choice of image...
