Could be because barren means dead or someone who can't reproduce and that tree in the fan art is certainly dead.

And a grandmother could be a barren woman.

It seems to me the significance of the page is that we have a reference to children crying and dieing. Sarah hears the children in the walls. JD has the visions of the tormented children. Roman himself was nearly dead when "grandmother" found him.

I received a similar AIN from Sam. The addition on mine was that she asked if I'd heard from Peter - which I haven't for nearly three weeks (meaning direct email.) He hasn't updated his site in 8 days.

I told Sam I thought the important part of the page was the children and how there were so many other stories of children in danger, such as Sarah's hearing the voices and JD's vision of tormented children. I suggested somone might want to look for others in Aglauar who are like Roman and might have been found in the Barrens.
