Academy issues statement regarding August 10

In response to public concern, Professor Sente Kiteway, the Master of the Academy, has issued a statement regarding the incidents that occurred on August 10, 269. Professor Kiteway said: "We would like to step forward at this time and clearly state the facts regarding this affair for the public record." Read the full statement here.

Anna Heath Chair created

The Academy is pleased to announce the creation of the Anna Heath Chair for Ancient Languages. This new chair is in memorial to Fellow Anna Heath, whose tragic death has bereft the Academy of one of its distinguished faculty. Professor Heath was also a member of the Cube Retrieval Team, and so the chair is likely to be awarded to a candidate with special interest in ancient Earth languages. The position will be fully-funded, and is expected to be awarded beginning in the fall of 270. Senior Fellow Estelle Sedgewick said: "Anna Heath was an extraordinary intellect and scholar, and a dedicated teacher. I am certain that this chair in her honour, creating a new opportunity for others in her field, would delight her to no end."
