give up ok I am stuck again. :/
i don't think that Aiko made this necessarily- but she could know about it having found it herself?
or else they got so tired of us not finding it - I mean it is findable just from the message on the cards. I bet it has been up for a while. I would love it if MC has a post-wave1 chat if they can tell us how long this page has been there. We've had the final message for weeks and weeks.

was reading the wiki and I came across this.. knew about it but it never crossed my mind..
the cards were 'tampered' before they were sent to Mind Candy, so it could very well be Aiko that did it..

I've been reviewing all of our procedures, and I can't find any red flags at all. You're right, though, this wasn't a case of transmission corruption, as we do see evidence of this same tampering in our finals, though not in any of the earlier versions at all. I've checked back and seen some differences in the finals from the previous waves, as well. It must have slipped our notice before. I'm gravely concerned about what this could mean.

if i'm giving away the location of the cube, i'm going to murder myself (not suicide. straight up murder)
here's my analysis of EVERYTHING so far.
Mind Candy drew all of the cube hunters to San Francisco. I think they were trying to level the playing field for everyone to bring us all to the location of the general area of where the cube is.
the cabs and the sidewalk ventilation match. We got a "clue" from the helicopters giving us a clue to where the cube was... but they just flew in circles over the palace of fine arts. The Palace of Fine Arts is important.
the numbers on the cards... everyone thinks they are directions to something. What if we used the directions given (starting at the palace of fine arts theater) to lead to a specific block in san francisco?
anyone intrigued? let the hunt begin?
P.S. Trans AM building? Acendacy Point?

Not wishing to rain on your parade at all, but I think that is pure speculation. They've had events before in many places before, what makes this one any different (apart from the whole wormhole thing)?
(my opinion may be heavily biased as I'm UK based, so am holding out hope that it will be in the UK )
I also think that using the numbers on San-Fran would be too easy. I wouldn't be that impressed if that was the final puzzle...

well everyone was brought there after wave 4 had been released for a little while. I think they gave us plenty of time to work out the puzzles and find the cube in san fran. When my group of Cube hunters had dinner with the guys from mind candy after the event, they said that season one would be ending in the next month, and season two would start shortly thereafter.
maybe the numbers thing isn't right, but the story hasn't progressed much since then (and that's just been the memorial page).. I think they thought maybe someone would have found it already?

My two cents...since all the cards have been released, presumably we have all the information we need to find it -- it's just a matter of someone working it out. The memorial seems to be a way of subtly guiding us in that direction.

Don't expect to find anything in there. That library page is still hard-coded to disable access from Earth, as it has always been.

Perhaps an email to our favourite librarian is in order.... *clutches at straws *
EDIT:
Quote:
Dear Violet,
Hope your well. I thought you were probably the best person to ask about this... as part of our fact-finding and puzzle-solving exploits here on Earth, we've been talking a lot recently about the 'Library of Babel' - you may already know about this fictional place featured in an Earth book by Jorge Louis Borges. It's a bit of a hard concept to explain:
Borges's narrator describes how his universe consists of an endless expanse of interlocking hexagonal rooms, each of which contains the bare necessities for human survival—and four walls of bookshelves........[explain explain explain].......... the "Crimson Hexagon", containing a book that contains the truth of all the other books; the librarian who reads it is akin to God.
SO - I was wondering if there is anything akin to this in Perplex City literature or legend, or if any of these themes sound familiar?? The name 'Combed Thunderclap' is one of the books of the Library of Babel, does that name mean anything to you?
We cannot access the Academy Library's database from Earth, so I thought if you could, you might do a search for us? That, or if there was a way to open the search function up to us, we could look for ourselves. Anything you could find regarding the Library of Babel, Combed Thunderclap, The Crimson Hexagon, and/or its PXC equivalents, would be greatly appreciated.
Best of luck, take care,
Hannah (eeeqz) x

Look at the source of the library page.
The boxes are programmed to only give the error messages.
So we're NOT going to find anything there.
Move along.

Interestingly the first does state:
Quote:
You do not appear to be a registered user of the library
where as the other states:
Quote:
That code does not appear to be in the library's databank
and it does say that:
Quote:
Any user may access library documents with the document code. Please enter your document code here:
if we could only test out a code...
[EDIT]and it is bugging me that there should be more to do.[/EDIT]

If we could find out what kind of code it is, be it numerical or alphabetial, that might help. As we sit though, we might as well be throwing lawn darts around and saying that's were the cube is.
