OMG, I just realised where everything is pointing. Now I am all tingly, but also annoyed cos I have to hand in this dissertation wassit.
Gardening. Bifurcation. Borges. Everything points to The Garden of Forking Paths , I think.
But http://www.perplexcityacademy.com/gardenofforkingpaths doesn't seem to work. But there are a lot of garden and tree references going on. This route seems to make some sense. Maybe there's another Borges story about trees? Maybe that's what the libraryofbabel background is pointing too?

Yeah ive been playing with that all morning. Also I found the phrase Orbis Tertius which looked suspicious as it refers to a secret society. When you put that in the URL you have to give a password to enter the site. I dont think this has anything to do with the game though.

Okay, stupid thought time: could the background of the eye on the libraryofbabel site be some sort of symmetrical pattern we're supposed to figure out?
It looks like grass to me - like someone has just fallen over and as they open their eyes they see grass.
I thought the same about the finally comment too and the chair for Anna. Seems apt.
Personally, I thought they were fireworks. You know, 'OMG REVELATIONS'.

Even is this is nothing to do with PXC, its a cool site. Its like one of those decision books where you turn to page 233 then find you die and cant find your way back.
Could we be facing a maze soon?

I have been thinking for a while now about Anna's death. More accurately, about Anna's killer. Whilst we don't know who killed her yet, if we assume it was V that killed her then there is a good chance there is a recording out there for us to find. We know about his "kink", and it seems that Anna was tortured to death according to the Sentinel report on her. If Anna knew anything she wasn't telling us (Which I highly believe she did) then this would be the best way for us to find out this information. So now the possibilty of finding an mp3 file this week makes me feel slightly uneasy. *If* my speculation is correct, then prepare for an audio file far more disturbing than the recording of Monica Grand.
(Or, my sig could be right and Violet did it after all)

Brushing up on the garden of forked paths Wiki tells us:
Quote:
Although Tsun is arrested and sentenced to death, he claims to have "most abhorrently triumphed", as he has successfully communicated to the Germans the name of the city they were to attack, and indeed that city is bombed as Tsun goes on trial. The name of that city was Albert, and Tsun realized that the only way to convey that information was to kill a person of that name, so that the news of the murder would appear in British newspapers associated with his name.
perhaps we need the name of a dead person?

Got excited when googling "the garden of forking paths" took me to the modernworld/scriptorum libyrinth or library of allexamina, as that was where I was last night when looking up Georges Perec, lipograms and palindromes, thanks to Anna's interest. Have tried those words in search. The connection seems just to be a link between similar authors/books of interest, rather than something of use to our search. However thought I'd put it here in case someone else can make more of it.

This is a terrific week for you to seek out some new music. You have to admit your usual rotation is getting a little repetitive, and there's something out there that will make you into a lunatic fan all over again.
just thinking aloud - remeber the rotation on the Hesh site?
[EDIT] and perhaps there is another site by the guy that did whipsmart too - this sounds like old link - new link![/EDIT]

Well that would make sense if I were right about the mp3 of Anna being battered to death. Maybe espalier is the password to somebody's Hesh intranet files?

A good thought! Yesterday at lunch, I tried all of his short story names from "Labyrinths," all lowercase without spaces (like "libraryofbabel"), both with and without a trailing "the" where applicable (because the short story is officially named "The Library of Babel"), but did not find anything--though I don't have an exhaustive list of his stories, just those from this one book.

This is all spec but hopefully good spec!

okay, apart from the above there seems to be a lot to go at on this weeks futures, and there seems to be a lot of options.
I was thinking about this again on the way home and i read it this way:
Quote:

relates directly to the Hesh site. The rotating file system and this offers some possibility of a new file (Ryan will be hoping involves lead pipes and skull bashing!) or something else. Question is where to start.
but there is this little nugget:
http://www.last.fm/user/perplexcity/ and http://www.last.fm/music/Viard/+wiki that Cassandra found while we explored this idea. As we were at the live event we do not know if this is related to the event or is new. It would seem it was registered on the 12th August - interesting date!
There is also the comment about:
Quote:
The road on the northern border of Caesura Park...
which we havent come across before - unless someone cna tell us otherwise.
If this is new is it a new music file to find? It is called "inconclusion" and is not available to play.
The second thing that has struck me is this bit:
Quote:
and there's something out there that will make you into a lunatic fan all over again.
It sounds like there is another site by the Lunartik guy behind the whipsmart site - but i have no idea what or where. (can i trout myself for mentioning what i mentioned before )
As I said spec.

Continuing this [SPEC], a Google search revealed that Wolverhampton, England, has a district or something called "Heath Town." Also in Wolverhampton, apparently, is a statue of Prince Albert on a horse. Clearly, the cube is in Wolverhampton, 20 ammot in front of that statue. Hey, I said it was speculative. . .
P.S. before anyone gets on a train with a shovel, there are also at least three citys/towns named "Heath" in the States: one in Ohio, one in Texas, and one in Massachusets. Don't forget about Annaville, Texas and Annaville, Quebec. And of course, there's Annapolis, Maryland.

weeeeeell... the road on the north border of Caesura Park is called FreeFlow, but I could find no evidence of a connection between FreeFlow and the new song title on wikipedia or google...
