Yeah but this is an an arg and the phrasing of the the first news article seems to ressemble that of the portal trailer. Landa could merely be a parody term of endearment by those who created the arg....besides on the lanada welcome page it's clearly a lambda symbol.

Yes, however if this were an ARG for halflife 2, and the company within is called Landa, but it's supposed to be the same company in the game Lambda, then that's just bad.
It might be a shoutout to Halflife 2, but I'm entirely unconvinced this is an ARG for HL2 just on that fact alone. Now, if Landa is some sister company to Lambda Corp, that I might be able to believe. But at this point, Landa != Lambda, IMO

I have none. I'm just letting the arg play me

splitting puzzles out of the Landa-systems thread (edit completed)
Okie dokie, the current task has been split off into its own thread: [Landalan][PUZZLE] Assignment: Extraction
This thread is good for general site updates but not the individual assignments, so continue to add News and other changes here.

I f we're going to start splitting topics how about we give landalan it's own board so we don't clutter the ARGs with potential board?

Because you cannot run before you can walk, and you cannot walk before you can crawl.
Basically, this *is still* an ARG with Potential. Until we start showing the *need* for multiple threads, it will not justify a forum of its own. This is the process. Enjoy!

Aren't we showing the need for for multiple threads by splitting topics? I'm not trying to be a pain or anything but Landalan topics already outnumber all other posts in this board.

I think now that there's a wiki, we'll have a better, simpler way to organize all the information, rather than being forced to do the same with threads.

Yeah Bruce, thanks for setting up the Wiki, I find it very helpful.
Personally, I think the Lambda/Landa/HL thing is just a coincidence. I think it's a grassroots ARG with an interesting plotline based on the idea of internet ownership. I look forward to seeing how this will turn out though... I'm pretty hooked.

New news item:
Tokyo Game Show 09/06/2006
All Operatives, please note: Landa Systems will be sending a reconnaissance team to the Tokyo Game Show in order to remain in contact with key industry people. The trip will be documented, and it is likely we will require your efforts with some of the information we will receive.
Status Page now displays the overall status of your mission, along with points and completion percentage.

Hey well this is my second ARG (first would be the shadows of collosus one but that seemed to have died) but I decided to have a go at this one. I've read all of this topic (only a few posts on the trailhead) and signed up as an opperative as well as completed Extraction. Are we now waiting to see what happens next then?

Enerbrat, there are still 5 text strings that apparently never got submitted, but once we get those in, yes, we're back to waiting.
Quite a while, too, if there's not going to be anything new until the Tokyo Game Show...that's Sept 22-24.

Okay well I haven't recieved my email yet. But for all we know it could be manual and I may not get it until tomorrow correct? and it seems as though I haven't completed it so I do need my text strings (it said I did earlier but it seems to verify after it's been accepted)
