[AIN] Sam re: Klepsydra Chat Sept.5

Quote:
You talked to JD?! Iris told me that he has been making progress with his new doctor. Has he been doing some sort of therapy with various stimuli?

And an AI bot turned up during the chat? Was it a prank or something? Strange though that it would show up during a chat about Klepsydra... not really a place you'd think bots would be released in. And you've been contacted before? That seems like quite the coincidence, doesn't it? Hrm. Maybe I need to get myself an AIM account?

Sam

I sent a synopsis of the chat and told her she needed an AIM account. I also shared my thoughts on turingprinciple.

There's quite a bit of info on that mythosphere site! I don't know much about psychology, but I'll take your word for it that what this doctor is doing might be somewhat sketchy. I thought that JD was improving though? Maybe it was just a fluke and the treatment had nothing to do with it? But John Doe is improving too? I sure hope this has nothing to do with all of the weird happenings in Aglaura... if it does, I'm afraid that more people might \"catch\" JD's illness.

Have you mentioned any of this to Phyllis?

Sam

My reply:
Quote:
Yes, I did talk to Phyllis about this. She's just so happy the doctor's thought JD was well enough to participate in the chat, she thinks they're miracle workers. For all we know JD isn't any better. He only spoke a few sentences and it could have been what the doctor's instructed him to say.
John Doe onlly remembered who he was after the appearance of the turingprinciple. Odd, huh?
Sarah seems to be "catching" the illness as well, or so it would appear by her blog entries. Sad

My original message:

Yes, I believe you definitely need an aim account.
I spoke with JD briefly, or rather I should say he spoke briefly during the chat session. They have been using a collective conscious approach to his therapy which makes me extremely suspicious. Any psychiatrist worth a grain of salt knows a patient's psychosis should never be reinforced, which is essentially what they are doing. The Dr. said they present them with mythological subjects and then test their recall later. I see flaws in this from a scientific standpoint and an ethical one. You can check out the Dr.'s research here:

I don't think the bot was a joke. It seemed to spark the memory of the John Doe patient with amnesia to remember who he was. I somehow feel this is related to the other strange happenings in Aglaura as well. The John Doe patient was found in the woods wandering naked. The exact same story as our new friend Roman Bern who writes the site http://barrensoul.com Tell me what you think, and let me know if you get the aim account set up.

So "Catching the Wish" refers to catching a mental illness associated with the wish?
