ok, so maybe I've been staring at that page for too long but...

Can anyone else make out faint words in the stripy lines in the background? Like a book used to hold the page down in the photocopier being picked up?

Only sound = noise on the page?

EDIT: By the way, the background is a William Morris print

------------

All for one, and one for free!

i get nothing altering contrast/brightness so I say too much staring.

Just a few thoughts from a noob...I'm confused about Cassandra's reference to the stylistic similarities to George Herbert. I'm checking the poet and his style is definitely religious, rythmic and it rhymes...maybe i've found the wrong George Herbert.

Also,
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The Greek goddess or 'mother of languages' is Echo, or more anciently Aiko. Might be significant.

Ah, no, that's the one. He famously created "shaped" poems such as the Altar and Easter Wings. Aiko's poem appears to me likewise to be shaped. Herbert also was a fan of wordplay and hidden symbolism and messages in his writing - see his Colossians 3:3, as an example.

Whether any of it is relevant is another story, but that was my first impression.

SOLVED : http://perplexcityacademy.com/libraryofbabel/

Ok so we aren't the brightest bulbs but we did eventually get this one...with lots of hints.

explaination

Several people have asked me how this page was the solve for the library of babel page. You have to remember that we already had the solve of Combed thunderclap relating to the Library of babel. We just didn't know where to use it.

This page was referring to babel (and as xnbomb explained the library of babel) indirectly in a few ways esp. "meaninglesswords" .

And this page was posted on the academy website - so the point was to get us to link the solve of libraryofbabel with the academy website. So that we would try it there. The same sort of hint was contained in the leaked emails which very clearly told us there was a "library" site on the academy directory.

Rose,

I disagree that the libermemoriarum page was supposed to lead to the libraryofbabel page. It would mean that the writer of the former was the writer of the latter, or at least knew about it, and that doesn't seem to fit in with the story.

Definitely not Oak. Ivy has been suggested, which would be Helix I think. Hmmm. But they seem a little different to ivy to me.

I have a different view of this.

1. Aiko or Kurt or anyone could have found the directory themselves and wanted to point it out to us.

2. more likely - PuppetMasters were getting frustrated with our inability to find the page even after we had the solve. By using this page on the Academy website it was to spark our idea that we needed to look for the directory on the Academy website. It doesn't mean the Aiko or anyone else (other than the PMs) had knowledge of the directory on the Academy site at that time.

They repeated this same type of hint when they had Sente's post on the academy website. It is as if they are saying "look here." But again, that was reasonable within the context of the story.

They had the Madame Bianca's futures column covered with hints, and I don't think anyone is suggesting that she wrote these pages. Even then we didn't get it and they were forced to use the leaked emails telling us that the directory was on the Academy site.

The connection between the words on the Academy page pointing to babel and the place the directory was located convinces me that this was a direct hint from the PMs. (see also xnbomb's analysis further up this thread reaching the same conclusion for different reasons.)
