Ah... okay, so it does have a vowel after all. That'll teach me to post while under the influence of gainful employment...

Let us US players not all jump for joy just yet. I have 3 Game stops in my area and only 1 has them in stock (or even heard of them). It's a great thing to announce on the PXC site but I think logistics hasn't caught up yet
I've been to two today, and neither had them. What's worse is that the one in the Prudential Center in Boston is listed on PXC's site as having them, but the clerks didn't even know what it was. At least the clerks at the Meadow Glen Mall knew what the game was, despite not having any packs.
Of course, it hasn't been a total loss. For some reason, Newbury Comics on Newbury Street had two packs, and I picked those up (really convenient, there were two cards that completed sets, bumping me up *just* enough to earn the orange leitmark). So there are some stores getting them around here - just not the ones Mind Candy thinks have them.

I'm guessing that they they count occurences, not letters themselves, otherwise in addition to the ones posted above, you'd also have...
You know you mentioned one that I did as well, right? Also, in your second part... Iran, Iraq, Italy, and Libya both have two different vowels in them.
Though I can't cast any aspersions here. I nearly put Libya down in the original post.

What is this 'vowel' thing you keep speaking of?

Since I was driving past one (my tag is a clue) I wondered how many British cities meet this test. There are 7, or 8 if one includes how the last one is commonly known. To make a round 10, there are 2 further former cities. Very impressed if you can get these off the top of your head, i.e. without looking at the list I checked them against. I only got 5 without such assistance.

Not all gamestops have them, they're only in 550 stores. most of the cashiers are clueless (of the local stores the only one that was helpful was a store that doesn't carry them, that I knew didn't carry them, but I quizzed them anyway)
find out where they keep their trading cards (the one store here that has them had them under a box of magic cards..)
the other fun part is that they don't come up in their computer system under "Perplex"
anyways.. 820992 is their item number, give them that and they'll get you Perplexing Goodness..

My local mall had 4 packs, in a glass case with the *gasp* Pokemon cards and such... I asked the store employee about the 'Plan to get more' thing and why it said no, he speculated it was a pilot program to gauge interest... I told him I'd personally buy out whatever stock he got (not paying for shipping = the good)... how's that for interest?
Anyway, got two blacks out of it, so I'm a happy camper.

retail game store It's great Perplex City cards are being carried by more and more places, but if you have a independent retail game store near you please support them and buy your cards there!! (The big places don't need our help staying in buisiness).
And any missouri-ans out there, there's an awsome new game store called Game Cafe that has wave four solid and wave four mixed. They are really nice and do card trading nights and puzzle events with packs and cards as prizes too! You can email them at julieSPLAT playgamecafe.com and find out whatever you need to know. I think they have some kind of reduced cost shipping if you're too far away.

I count myself very lucky indeed. 3 stores carry them. And by "carry", i mean, they have a whole box each, brimming with cards (or, did, before I visited...) And the clerks seem to not only know what it is, but are actally quite enthusiastic about it.
Bonus fFeat: The GameStop which sells cards in Brighton is right next door to the Tops Grocery Store which players had to call, in Rookery Tower .

Neither banff nor grimsby count as cities, though like king's lynn they're good town names with 1 vowel.

I read what seemed like an authoritative list with a full description of changing historical definitions. So no longer because of having a cathedral or a burgh etc. According to that list you have the 5 straight forward english ones. There's another 1 which is included by its "common" name, another two across the sea (though one could be said to be half) and two which are no longer cities.

As an update for Boston-area Cube Hunters - the GameStop in the Prudential Center has Mixed Wave 4 packs in the back room. They haven't put any up for display, but they're there. Ask them to look and they'll fish them out for you.
