Marzent Releases Email Newsletter, Issue #1
Marzent is proud to announce the release of their very first company email newsletter, sent out to subscribers today, July 21st, 2006. The newsletter is intended to be one more method of maintaining open communication with the citizens and businesses of Aglaura, and the first issue features several interesting and informative articles. Here is one of those articles from the first issue.

Construction on Great Water General Hospital is slightly ahead of schedule with a projected opening date set for late Fall or early Winter. All external work is 98% complete and several crews have started work on finishing the interior. The parking lot and landscaping work is due to begin early next week. Marzent has consulted with local landscape horticulturists to ensure that only native plants are used in the landscaping for future ease of care and the preservation of the local habitat.

Last month, a small portion of the hospital was opened as a clinic to help serve the community's needs. Chief of Staff Ralph Simon Upcroft III said, "We're extremely pleased with the progress Marzent has made thus far on the hospital. We saw the immediate need in the community for some level of hospital service so we worked with Marzent to rearrange the construction schedule. This allowed us to open a portion of the hospital to act as an Urgent Care clinic, giving service and jobs to the community."
The new Great Water General Hospital will be the most advanced medical center in the area, equipped with the latest technology and equipment. Designed around the concept of "High Quality Patient Comfort and Care", the hospital will have all private rooms with windows and a state-of-the-art, computerized phone meal ordering service. GWG nurse, Linda Flores commented, "I'm so excited for the new hospital to open. Working in the UC has been such a pleasant experience. It's so much easier to take care of patients with the new equipment and plenty of space. Already, it's unlike any other hospital I've ever worked at."

Aglaura, NJ - August 7, 2006 - Press Conference Summary

On Monday, August 7th, Marzent Communications Director Bruce Abbott conducted a press conference from the Marzent World Headquarters in Aglaura, New Jersey, to discuss the company's current and future projects aimed at continuing to improve the community and the lives of everyone living in it. The press conference addressed several topics and excerpts from the prepared statement presented at the conference are posted here, in an effort to maintain our ongoing commitment to keep the citizens of Aglaura informed and involved in their community.

About the devastating fires Aglaura suffered a few weeks ago, Mr. Abbott presented detailed progress reports of how Marzent is helping to repair the fire damage at the various locations. They included:

• the Greatwater General Medical Facility construction site - Repairs to the main Great Water General building, still under construction, are almost 100% complete, due to additional manpower and resources dedicated to the project by Marzent. As a result, no impact to the overall construction schedule is anticipated.

• the new Aglaura municipal complex - Marzent is extremely proud that the design of the fire detection and suppression systems included in the new building prevented any extensive damage, and is working with the Borough to finish the repairs required as quickly as possible. Even though the new municipal building had been completed and turned over to the Aglaura municipal body a few months ago, Marzent has generously offered to completely manage and fund the restoration efforts to help the town deal with the tragedy. The company is confident that the Borough Council will vote to accept the offer at their next regularly scheduled meeting.

• the Aglaura Public Library building - Tragically, the Library building suffered the most extensive damage due to its age and the lack of any sprinklers or fire detectors. Consequently, the building has been declared a total loss by Borough inspectors and officials. Marzent is offering a multi-faceted proposal to help Aglaura deal with this crisis. The proposal includes taking possession of the building to manage and fund the demolition, as well as donating the costs of outfitting the new location to be a workable public facility. Additionally, Marzent is also graciously offering to donate the entire replacement inventory the Library will require to become functional again.

Mr. Abbott next introduced Marzent's latest community redevelopment plan, which he called "Phase 2, Version 2". The plan has been designed to address the concerns raised my citizens over recent months and during the previous Council debate over Version 1 of the plan, which was defeated. Marzent intends to present the detailed plan to the Borough Council at next Tuesday's meeting, but some of the highlights are:

• A proposal to construct a new public park at the former library location, to be named after former Head Librarian Agatha Dobbs.

• A plan to equip the entire town with a wireless computer network, allowing citizens and businesses free high speed internet access and networked communications, to be paid for and built by Marzent and then donated to the Borough.

• A plan to completely re-do and improve the main roads in and out of Aglaura, to accommodate the increased population, commerce, and industry to the town. The proposal would call for an immediate start to the project and would begin with the one main highway at both ends of Aglaura, and working inwards from there.

Before taking questions, Mr. Abbott next announced Marzent would very shortly be introducing a new Community Liaison Manager, who would act in concert with the Aglaura officials and citizens to insure that everything done results in a better quality of life for all involved. This person, who has not been identified yet, will also act as the main conduit of feedback from the community to the company. An announcement is expected within the next week.

In response to a question about reports of numerous fenced in areas in the woods around Aglaura with the Marzent corporate logo on them, Mr. Abbott said that these areas were all actually part of the original land purchase Marzent made when it started developing the Industrial Park, and are all part of the public record. He went on to explain that the fenced in sites are actually there for public safety, as much of the surrounding Pine Barrens land is riddled with old mine shafts and underground caves, making certain areas extremely unsafe for hikers, sportsmen, and so on. The fenced in areas all surround and restrict access to these unsafe areas of the woods.

I sure hope Marzent isn't a public company, because this kind of business decision would cause shareholders to dump stock real quick-like. Seriously, this kind of "devotion" to the town is suspect in its amazing(-seeming) generosity.

As for possible Marzent spokespeople...maybe Diana?

mapmaker, you took the thoughts right out of my fingers.

Marzent is putting way more into these "public" projects than any typical expected rate of return for any of it's legitimate businesses. So that means they are expecting either 1) to make a huge profit on something we know nothing about (i.e. illegal???) or 2) they don't expect to have to pay for any of these improvements because something is going to change in the town/world.

And I'm thinking Diane is who they are considering, but lately she would not be well accepted (at least, by us) as a liason.

And, again, Marzent shows an incredible interest in gaining complete access to the Library building

And all those generous offerings... it seems to me the tipycal distraction or make-up plan to hide other acts and gain people's confidence Rolling Eyes

The citizens should remember: Beware of Greeks bearing gifts.

And that sometimes if something seems too good to be true - it is.

Two of the things that bother me the most:

1 - Marzent would control the wireless network. They would have total access to all the communication using this service. There certainly can't be any assumption of privacy with Marzent running things.

2 - The upgrading of the roads and that they will start at the edge of town with the two main highways and work inward. The prophesies said that "he" would be safe as long as the masks and walls were in place. What if the idea is to add more walls - or protect them - by working from the outside in. This way they could form a protective barrier to insure "he" would keep his powers.

I wonder how this will affect Diana's position on the city council - I would think that the position with Marzent & being a council woman would end up in conflicts of interest situations.

Marzent Combines Two Positions to Better Serve the Community
A press release dated Sept. 6, 2006 announced that, in an effort to better serve the community and be even more responsive to their concerns and requests, Ms. Diana Sprague, a longtime Aglaura resident and former Aglaura Council member, was named the Director of Community and Corporate Communications, adding the duties of all of the firm's corporate communications to her existing responsibilities as the former Community Liaison. In doing so, the company has combined the two separate positions, eliminating the Director Communications job previously held by another Aglaura resident, Mr. Bruce Abbott. "Mr. Abbott has been released from the company," said Ms. Sprague, "And Marzent thanks him for the wonderful job he did. Our top management just felt that combining the two positions was the best thing for both us and the Aglaura community. We wish him the best in his future endeavors."

Marzent Press Conference Focuses on Aglaura Public Safety
At a press conference held on August 30th, Marzent Community Liaison Diana Sprague announced plans to augment the company's ongoing efforts to protect Aglaurans from unsafe areas in the woods surrounding the town. "In Marzent's ongoing effort to put the health and safety of our neighbors and fellow citizens first, we will soon be making the properties we own in the Pine Barrens of Burlington County even more secure. As you know, these areas have been designated as hazardous to the public due to the large number of open mine holes, caves, and sink holes that populate them, and our earlier efforts included fencing in the areas so that hikers and sportsmen could not wander into the areas and injure themselves. Next week, we'll be adding a private security force to that effort, a small team of trained professionals who will make the areas even safer, by providing 24 hour supervision of the sites. No longer will parents have to worry about their sometimes adventurous children climbing the previously-installed fences and putting themselves at risk."
