Sylvia,

Yeah, yeah, I know, everybody's wondering where I've been and the answer is - running for my freaking life. These guys have chased me back and forth across half the country now and now matter what the Hell I try to do, I just can't shake them. I don't know if they are getting better or I am getting tired, but they are getting closer and closer each time I encounter them. I think I've lost them, sometimes for a couple of days at a time, and then they'll show up, at the coffee shop I was just at, or the gas station I just used. It's goddamn spooky, I tell you.

I know one thing for sure though, they aren't going to get their hands on what they want. At least not from me. I took care of the last one I had earlier today. I didn't really want to do it in the way I did, but I'm only a day or so away from Aglaura again, and the freaks are right behind me, so I was kind of out of options. I think who I sent it to might have the best chance of keeping it safe and figuring out what it means, anyway.

Me, like I said, I'm tired. Tired of running. Tired of hiding. And tired of letting some unseen assholes ruin my life over things I have no idea about - these stupid masks, the 3-0-7 symbol, and that weird freaking machinery out in the Pine Barrens caves. So it's over and I'm done. After I fix one mistake I made.

You may be able to help me yet though. This crazy idea hasn't had time to properly ferment in my mind yet, but once it does I'll fill you in on what I'm thinking of.

KM

Hey thanks a lot for filling me in about this Barren Soul web site and this Roman Bern guy. Is that a made-up name, or what? Just what I need, another freaking nutjob running around in the Pine Barrens to watch out for and keep track of. Just kidding, thanks for the information, seriously.

Unless my count is off, I think we've lost a mask somewhere.
That, or someone got "Sacred" and didn't let us all know.

If it is the last one, maybe we'll have some forward movement, finally.

My custom intro:

I can't tell you how much that part of your email made me laugh. My brother, rest his soul, used to say almost the exact thing to me. Hard to believe he's been gone for almost six years now. He was much too young, much too young.

Did we already know about Keith's brother?

The Mask of Sacred

I know you've been waiting to find out who received the mask of Sacred. Well the wait is over. I got it yesterday which was a long day for me.

We left the house at about 4:30 am to get to the hospital by 7:00 am then after the test and the CT scan, we had to wait for the results to take to the doctor who we saw at around 3:00 pm who tells us good and bad news. The good news is that it is not attached to the bone or spread to the eye or brain but the bad news is surgery has to be performed within the next few weeks to ensure it doesn't spread, they will be calling us with the date and time. Then after seeing the doctor we had to see the anesthesiologist and then the pre-op team so it was a long day. Needless to say my husband isn't looking forward to another surgery, this will make the fourth trying to get rid of that god awful stuff and it means more disfiguring on his part. But I tried to reassure him that no matter how he looked I would always Love him and the important thing is that I have him around for many years to come.

Well, we finally got home late last night and sitting on my porch was a box. Before getting out of the car my husband and I looked at each other and said at the same time "what's that?" I said "I don't know, I haven't ordered anything." So I got out to take a look and as soon as I saw it was from KM, I knew what it was. I turned to my husband and said, "Oh my god, it's the mask." Needless to say he wanted to know what the heck I was talking about and I went into the long story of telling him about it and showing him the email from Keith and so on and so forth. He actually got spooked after reading Keith's email saying, "woman, what have you got us into?" So I had to remind him it's just a game but I'm not sure I convinced him. But he saw how elated I was that I got the mask and was very happy for me. I've hardly put it down.

When I opened the box and unwrapped it one of the eyes had come off and I was so distraught about that. Today, I've been feeling so bad that I haven't been able to type this up but I was still hanging on the mask. My husband seeing what it meant to me and worrying about me feeling so bad went how to his shop and came back with a hot glue gun and said, "I can tell how much your mask means to you and how bad you're feeling over its missing eye I'm going to fix it for you." And that he did, so it's okay now and I do feel better at least enough to type this up.

The bad news is, my daughter-n-law borrowed my digital camcorder a few months ago and conveniently forgets to bring it back. I finally came to the conclusion that she must really want it so I was going to save up enough money to buy me a new one and just give here that one. But now, I will be getting it back at least to take pics of the mask, etc. on Thursday night after my husband has his next doctor visit. Then on Friday, we have to meet with our lawyer so it will be after that before I can get pics up. Sorry.

But the picture here http://sixthofnever.com/wp-content/uploads/2006/08/bookmark.png doesn't give it full justice or tell the complete story. So for now, I will do my best to describe what you can't see until I can get pics up.

To start with the mailing label from Keith looked like this:
KM
SOMEWHERE IN PA
ON THE ROAD USA

And for the mask, those oval pink looking things I will try to describe for you the best I can. There are 8 rows of them. the first and last row have one each, the second and seventh have two each, the third and sixth have four each and the fourth and fifth have three each for a total of 20. Each one has a phrase on it with other symbols that may or may not be important or mini puzzles in themselves.

I'm not sure which side to begin with, so I will start at my left as I'm looking at the mask.

So stayed tuned pics will be up as soon as possible.

Sylvia, I'm having a hard time trying to figure how the everything is arranged on the mask. Maybe you can list it differently, please. And are the capital letters suppose to be there?

nax, I'm sorry i just now found your post.
I tried to scan some of the oval things but I can't scan most of them because they are too close to the mask but here is an example of what they look like.
