Ah, yeah, hopping into a strange limo because a video on YouTube told you to...not really the highest on my list of smart decisions, I don't care if it is the real Cassie giving out the clue leading to it, you don't do something like that by yourself. Even if it had been noticed and thought about, there's just no way you can expect anyone to just hop in by themselves.

Okaaaayyyyy. Except people hop into strange taxis and limos every single day, especially in a large metropolis like LA.

Wow, there is a serious undercurrent of conspiracy theory running rampant around here. I'm going to have to card my next taxi driver, especially if he doesn't speak english.

If it's a game the added paranoia helps give the upper hand.

Mmm, and apparently the definition I was using wasn't clear enough, so allow me to spell it out: When I say strange limo, I mean one that you did not get yourself. You do not have a benefactor waiting for you that sent the limo, you were not invited somewhere by someone you know. All you have to go on is a YouTube video, which is NOT enough to say you know where that limo is headed or why it's there. That is NOT safe, regardless of whether it's for a game or not. Going by yourself is NOT an option. But if you want to hop into strange limos with tinted windows when you haven't a clue where it's going or who sent it, hey, go right ahead.

There was a public announcement that the police were getting involved, and for no one to go anywhere near it. Best to just drop it.
I don't wantto go there, I just want to see the video....

Ok, I am just dying to point this out, because no else has mentioned it. I read at least two posts that saw a limo at the park. The song lyrics contain a line about "going for a ride". I know people think it meant the slide, but that doesn't mean they are correct. Quite a simple matter to pay a limo company to pick up a large group of people and drop them off at a specified location, or even to just have the clue waiting inside the limo, or even have the driver give the clue only to someone holding the clue found in the park. etc. etc. So, if someone had approached the limousine...?

As I've said, I think things are very well planned, but people were expecting so much less, and details were overlooked.

By the way, did anyone get the phone number off the payphone at the park? I'm curious if it has any significance.

I took a hi-res of the phone: http://www.happycatcorp.com/cassie/Picture%20002.jpg
There was no number on it.

I also walked by the limo several times. Once casually and once scrutinizing it carefully (and obviously). The driver was on his phone and didn't give me a second look. (Stretch limos in L.A. are a dime a dozen, so it didn't stand out that much. I only mentioned it previously because the only nearby 'hiding places' for somebody to watch the area were the limo and the community center office next to the playground.)

CASSIE is lame for making Sunday's puzzle somewhat elementary?

In defense of Cassie:

1. In the woods, Cassie dropped something on Sept. 12. Someone easily could have been there the morning of Sept. 13. But no legitimate player showed up until Sept. 15. Because of that, the drop was compromised. WE SUCK.

2. Cassie made a clear statement that she was not MySpace Cassie and still the boards were overrun with people trying to decode the MySpace Cassie crap for no good reason at all. WE SUCK.

3. Cassie dropped something in the park on Sunday in plain sight with a rather clear indication that it was at "the top of the slide," and still the best player returned from the park empty handed and had to be given more hints. WE SUCK.

No matter how good the "puzzle people" here are (and I'm certainly not saying they're not), you have to think about the history here. If YOU were Cassie, how complex would YOU have made Sunday's puzzle? And risk another failure and have to write "I HATE YOU" as the result again?

We're lucky it wasn't a circle-the-word, frankly.

Not trying to attack anyone here. Sunday was bloody awesome. Just defending Cassie for not creating the puzzle-to-end-all-puzzles in trying to bring this game back from the brink. She had no good reason to risk such a thing, and every reason not to.

Okay, so allow me to be clear, as well. You're saying you have absolutely, positively never jumped into a taxi sitting at the curb to take you somewhere? That certainly fits your definition of strange.

Jammer you have to understand that it was easy for the people here to deocde it, so what if they didn't find it on the first once over. The puzzle wasn't designed for unfiction it was designed for the lg15 demographic we just got to it first.

Right. Be careful in everything you do, but seriously, a limo driver?

I'm sorry, but I just find that difficult to swallow. No one jumps into curb side taxis? There is nothing stranger than a taxi sitting there waiting to pick up anyone. Could be an axe murderer. I don't know.

I just couldn't live my life as if every paid public worker, especially a limo driver, might whisk me into the woods and do me harm. I'd think it would be difficult to get around, or even step foot outside.

Oh, and from what I gather there was a rather large group of people at this park all looking for the same clue.

Considering I live out in suburbia? No, I've never jumped into a taxi to take me somewhere. However, in my mind, a taxi is different than a limo. Taxis are SUPPOSED to be out waiting in the street for people to come, flag them down, and hitch a ride. Limos, however, are not. They are sent by request. Which means someone has requested that limo to be there. Do you know who requested it? And no, saying, "Cassie requested it," doesn't count. Saying, "The creators of cassieiswatching requested it," doesn't count either, because do we know who the creators are? I believe they're the creators of LG15, yes, but I could be wrong and I accept that as a possibility. With this possibility acknowledged, there is no way someone can be expected to be comfortable going into something like that by themselves. If they were with a group, perhaps, but not by themselves.

As this is rather off-topic at this point, I'd appreciate it if this could either be dropped or taken to PMs. No need to piss anyone off.

Zazaban-

The Bible note WAS found at the top of the slide, according to the video. That was my point.

Aha, that explains it! Yes, definitely different rules apply for different locations. Large cities tend to have taxis and limos waiting curb side in many locations, including near large parks. You'll also find that to be the case at airports and the like. Anywho, that settles it. Thanks for clearing that up! Very Happy

It is officially dropped.

And now MS Cassie has posted.... a circle-the-word puzzle!

Someone has quite the sense of humor, evidently.
