Nice observation.

Going back to the pentacle: I thought if lined the tip of the pentacle with the tip of the spear, and then Vitruvian Man's navel with the circle on the spear... Well, if the perimeters of the circles lined up we might have something. But they don't. Back to the drawing board... I've posted my attempt so its clear what I'm talking about.

Does anyone know if there's a strict mathematical formula for drawing a pentacle?

In places that it rains a lot they do the same thing - so the water won't build up, and the Dr. mentioned that it rained heavily last night, and if you check the weather in Louisiana, most cities have a cloudy/rainy forecast for today...

Also there is a blue cup with a logo on it in the bar pic I can't quite make out the logo.... looks like C something then C something.... the place also sells smoothies...because in the video its on the window

The cup logo is "CoCo" when I zoom in on it the first "o" doesn't seem to fully connect, but that could just be the angle... I also noticed what looks like a snowglobe on the counter by where the register (I believe) is, and some kind of red figure in it...

As far as the pentacle, of course the Golden Ratio comes up for the actual pentagram, but I can't find anything other than that.

I'm with everyone else that is thinking "What the heck" though, I thought we were supposed to be looking for AV, not trying to find the Dr.

New AV info:

So yes I am relaxing a bit now and it is nice. But the mystery of AV will always weigh on me. So I am digitizing some of the material with assistance. I have many other priorities and my research assistant has limited time as well but I will attempt to make more material available expeditiously!

This is the first postcard and picture of the envelop it was posted in. It was sent to me in 2003 but I made nothing of it at the time. It was only by coincidence that it was preserved. I received the first film perhaps one month later.

Thank you for all of your kind words and assistance. I think I am making many Friends!

The language is definitely Greek - I've managed to translate the first word which is: "some, somebody, someone" - but I can't find translation for the next 2 words. I believe ardiente was able to translate the first clue, but he's not around.

I also got some more conversation from the Dr. just now, I'm convinced he's somewhere in Louisiana, just can't find where!!!

Me:
Quote:
Yes, the music isn't my taste either, but I'm sure that it was nice to hear something that reminded you of home It looks like you found a safe place to stay. That is wonderful. I bet you had a nice night of sleep for once with all of the security around you!

You say that there are nice houses and unkept ones - is it just because people aren't taking pride in their homes? I know a couple of years back where I live had a terrible ice storm and it damaged many of the houses in my town, there are still some that have a little damage. Those are the pictures I sent you - I took them in my backyard, and the photos do not do the damage justice!

You found a GRAVE in the city, or a cemetery? A single grave would probably signify that someone either lived or died in that city that was an important person. Did you happen to get their name? In my city we have several cemetaries around, so that is not uncommon.

Spirituality can be a fine line for a scientist to walk, but you have to have faith in something - you seem to have faith that we, complete strangers will be able to help you in your search for instance.

I hope you enjoy the photos!

(the pics were just of some trees that I had crashing down from the weight of the ice)

His reply:
Quote:
Yes the music in the film is not my taste but the owner plays many types of French music. All kinds! I think he is from the Middle East or Africa but French is very popular there.

Many homes are very dark like a gothic place. But that is my taste even if it is sometimes frightening. I think also that is why I found a grave next to a house! It was not a cemetery just a house! Imagine such a thing. There are even two names on the grave. It is odd don't you think? The people here are very eclectic which I did not expect.

Yes some people have faith in things but faith is not necessary if you can control the forces. I think in the future there will be no need for faith.

I added the bolding for emphasis, not him... back to trying to translate!

Hello, I'm new in the world of ARGs.. but you have to start somewhere, so I've tried to translate the greek text from the envelope, just via altavista Babel Fish, which means it is probarly not completely correct, but it is something like this, a bit different than yours Angba:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
somebody cannot walk the line between the Gospels and the book of law

To me it sounds like the dear dr. Jochen has stepped on some religious fanatics toes, christian toes...
But that was kinda obvious, also before this.

Here's some interesting reading on the woodcut in the postcard... Notice that tablet in the original has been modified from "AD" to AV" - Knights of the Templar... Hmmmm - I don't think these people are too "religious" in the traditional sense...

OK so the postcard is a picture by Albrecht Dürer entitled "Knight, Death and Devil" and is an engraving from 1513:

http://www.wisc.edu/arth/ah202/jch/05.html

Here's the wikipedia entry for Dürer that I haven't read yet.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Albrecht_D%C3%BCrer

EDIT: OK so I took so long writing this that it's now redundant Mad

I have been searching for the skyline but no luck there Mad There must be someone hanging around that can recognise the city - I don't live in the states so I don't know how common the buildings look but there are some fairly distinctive skyscrapers there:

The twin glass skyscrapers in the middle of the picture
The twin skyscrapers with the reddish slopping roofs on the left
The short blue building on the right with a pyramid roof
The sign on the building in the middle of the picture that looks like a backwards S or a rearing snake in a circle on a blue background
The stepped(or three separate) glass skyscraper(s) to the right of centre

Please! Someone must know! I'm going insane looking at US cityscapes!
:bursts in to tears:

:composes himself:

The picture from the coffee house shows a sign outside the window(partially hidden by the "Gelato" sign). It reads:

___ST
___O___N SQUA_____
____ING OF______

I think that the first line can have no more than 3 missing letters(maybe 4 if there's an I). I think the second line is TOWN SQUARE.

So that's what I have so far...

...back to the cityscapes :sniff:[/spoiler]

Ah... I see you've got there before me with the translation: I got the same as November, but the somebody translated to Ka'pojoz

Question

And the postcard is indeed Durer - its from a series of three woodcuts which in some interpretations are claimed to illustrate the four humours (the fourth was lost or never made). This is an ancient Greek medical concept: four fluids that flowed through the body and dictated health.
Also, if you look at the composition, it has been created in accordance to geometric rules derived from Da Vinci.

daihey, I think that's what they call a trout round here Smile That's the entrance to his appartment and its been up for a while.

I don't think we're dealing w/ a facist group - It almost looks like an "extension" of the Knights Templar... Let me know what you think.

In the german wikipedia entry for Dürer (http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Albrecht_Dürer) there is an analysis of this woodcut (http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ritter%2C_Tod_und_Teufel): The brave fighter, the knight, is riding in to the Valley of Hinnom (the valley of dead).
