Let the Hype begin: Heroes

I totally know what new Fall tv show I'm most looking forward to: Heroes. Seriously, anything with Greg Grunberg is worth looking at.

Heroes: NBC Monday, Sept. 25 9 p.m.

We can talk about the Fall Schedule
What will you be watching?

2006 Fall Schedule

My initial choices are the ones highlighted.
Unfortunately, this guide did not include the shows on Sci Fi (Battlestar Galactica, Eureka, Stargates), USA (Psych) or Bravo (Project Runway) or A&E (Family Jewels). Yeah, I know, some of these are "guilty pleasures". I really enjoyed "Who Wants to be a Superhero" though.

how i met your mother (ted is so cute)
prison break (mmm..wentworth)
vanished (i'm taping, but i haven't watched it in the past 2 weeks)
heroes (the pilot was 'okay', i'll see how the next few episodes go)
studio 60 (i'm a sucker for bradley whitford)

ncis (for some reason it amuses me)
the unit (cuz it comes on after ncis)
svu (i like the actors better than on the other L&Os)
nip/tuck (so unrealistic it's funny)

lost (i'm this close to dropping it. the second season really disappointed me, but i'll give it another chance)
the nine (premise looks interesting)
jericho (heard mixed reviews, but haven't seen the pilot yet so i'm withholding judgement)
criminal minds (i'm a sucker for serial killer stories)
bones (i like david boreanz and the new little love connection is cute)

csi (not serial killers, but usually has some interesting twists)
er (old habits die hard)

numb3rs (i like rob morrow)
sci-fi friday (bsg, dr who, eurkea - how can you go wrong)
usa friday schedule (dead zone isnt bad - monk is funny - psych is hilarious. too bad nothing new right now)
mi:5 (i miss tom, but i can handle seeing adam without a shirt)

college football (but only when the east coast bias isn't in effect. then i'm forced to sit at my computer watching yahoo update every 30 seconds)
watching the shows i taped that i didnt get a chance to watch

desperate housewives (second season wasnt that great, but still amusing to watch)
more watching of taped shows

Revising my most-anticiapted choice

I've seen the pilots for Heroes and The Nine and I have to say that The Nine is the superior show. The acting, dialogue, editing, cinematography are all feature-length quality. Tim Daly is outstanding, as are Kim Raver, John Billingsley and Scott Wolf. The questions that are posed about what happened during the 52-hour hostage situation are intriguing and compelling. I like it that they start the pilot at the end of the standoff. Wednesday Oct 4 on ABC (after Lost?)

Konamouse...sweetie...I can't read the tiny print on that schedule you posted (it doesn't enlarge)

[Vanished] Nice mystery. I'm not invested in it, but it's watchable.
[Heroes] Could do without the gratuitous gore. Love the concept.
[Studio 60] The Sorkin/Schlamme combo is hard to beat. The dialogue is stellar.
[Dancing with the Stars] Pleasantly surprised that this season most of the contestants can actually dance. I'm rooting for Joey.
[NCIS] Please let Tony go back to his old annoying self...we don't need two Gibbs.
[The Unit] Scott Foley...I'm just saying.
[Standoff] Easily watchable in a stand-alone kinda way.
[Justice] I understand that after this week it goes on hiatus a week early...not a good sign. I love Kerr Smith (Charmed, E-Ring)
[The Nine] Seriously, people...you MUST watch this.
[Smallville] Tom Welling is such fun to watch. I like the actress who plays Lois Lane, too.
[Grey's Anatomy] The season started out reasonably well.
-------------------
[MI-5] I'm skipping this season...after they eliminated the original cast, I lost interest.
[Smith] I quit watching after the first half-hour.
[Runaway] I watched the clip on zap2it and was bored senseless.

The only new show this season that would truly upset me if it were cancelled is The Nine.

Hmmm...just watched Heroes and I thought it was pretty good. Smile but i am a sucker for greg g. too. and i just love how he's popping up all over primetime since alias.

the show i'm really excited about tho doesn't start until midseason...it's called Traveler and will air on ABC (crosses fingers). The trailer looks AWESOME! just my opinion tho. Wink

Try to squeeze in Hustle on AMC - young attractive Brits and Robert Vaughn as the old codger, scamming their way around the UK. Much fun. Not sure exactly when it's on - I always catch late night repeats.

The shows i HAVE TO WATCH:
Doctor Who Season 2! (My Daleks can pwn your Cylons!)
Star-bleeping-Gate Atlantis!!!!! Yes YES YES!!!! (David Hewlett is the funniest actor alive. No exaggeration)*
Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip - Excellent show. I loved West Wing, and this is as good. If not better (why? I don't understand politics. I understand comedy. 'nuff said)

Others i'll watch when i get the chance:
Stargate SG-1 - Claudia Black almost makes up for the lack of Richard Dean Anderson
The Amazing Race - Yay, no more family teams
The Colbert Report - He had a Fing Hungarian bridge named after him!
Numb3rs - I'm a sucker for math shows. That are interesting. Oh, wait, there's only one of those. It's called Numb3rs!

And, of course, that old standby:
The Simpsons

*I REALLY want to see A Dog's Breakfast!

Nobody here has mentioned Veronica Mars or The Wire despite them being the fall series with the best chance to be awesome 1

Venture Brothers, while nearly over, has had an epic second season.

(For my other TV ramblings, and the ramblings of other people who I mostly vouch for, why not check out the place I talk TV?)

1 awesomeness computed based on empiricism and not having the creators/head writers/major directors leave the show over salary disputes after the most recent season falling way off-form (not that anyone listed that show either).

I plan to make use of my Digital Cable and included Tivo-esque service this year, and hence I'll find myself watching shows on at the same timeslot. I lurve Tivo.

MONDAYS

Prison Break
Heroes
Vanished
Studio 60

TUESDAYS (What happened to Tuesdays? Last year I loved my Tuesdays! This year they are bare!)

House
The Unit
(Would say Smith, but I heard it was cancelled. Liotta, stick with movies.)

WEDNESDAYS

30 Rock
Lost
The Nine
Justice (though I hear its changing to Mondays...)
Criminal Minds

THURSDAYS

Survivor (What can I say? Reality's still got me)
CSI:
Six Degrees (My magic ball says this ones going to be cancelled soon)
The Office

FRIDAYS

Grey's Anatomy

SUNDAYS

The Simpsons
Family Guy
American Dad (the worst of the 3 animations)
Amazing Race

----

As for non-network shows, I'll be watching:

Weeds (this season's off to a slower start, but its still damn good)
Entourage (It starts again in early 2007, I thinks)
Billable Hours (It's a Canadian show)
Battlestar Galactica
Psych
Eureka (it's just getting started up North)
Extras (1st season deserved so much more praise)
Dexter (looks good after seeing the first episode)
South Park (Wednesday's sure are packed)
and various Late Night Shows

Also kidnapped is quietly running out the mystery - and I suspect will change times if not channels.

And, yes, Dexter is shaping up to be very good.

I read that Kidnapped was going to play out a 13 episode arc and the remaining episodes would be sent to Saturdays.

SCI FI is alsorunning replays of the Monday Episode on Fridays (7 pm Eastern Time) and I think on Sundays as well.
