The Ring - Game, anyone remembering?

Hi Everyone!

I continue on my quest for information on the really old games, to support my thesis.

Now, does anyone remember the game that was a marketing thingee for The Ring?

Even better, do anyone still have any mirrors, files or information from it?

I would be eternally greatful for any and all help!

I do remember the game - in fact, I remember reading the discussion on ARGN about it.

You can read the old threads here:
http://www.argn.com/forums/index.php?board=34.0

I'm not sure if anyone has the sites mirrored anywhere, but you can try http://archive.org to see if they're available.

There was also a mini-promotion for Ring 2 with a message board where you could sign up for a copy of the cursed video - I actually received two, for some reason - but I can't remember that URL.

Heee! The archived forum quotes my description of the cursed video, god that whole mess was a lot of fun. That tape turned me into a one-man advertising campaign for the film. Future corporate ARGS should consider a physical-media trailhead for immersiveness. It worked wonders for The Ring.

EDIT: Wow, the things we forget. I had no idea I had been involved in this one.

EDIT the second: http://www.theringworld.com/promotionsites.php has a listing of sites mentioned in both film viral campaigns.

I think I liked string back then, too.
