[EVENT] Cubefest Boston - 7 October 2006 Event from Sat Oct 07, 2006 2:00 pm to Sat Oct 07, 2006 8:00 pm Pandemonium Books & Games will be hosting a party for the International Day of the Cube, Saturday, October 7, 2006 from noon to 6 PM. Both newcomers and experienced Cube Hutners are welcome for a day of games, puzzles, trading and seeing if anyone left the Receda Cube lying around Cambridge, MA.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
...and possibly being mooned over cell phone by fellow players from the UK. At least, that's what they threatened to do.
The event is being supported by Mind Candy, so we should have a lot of the same cool stuff that the Londoners are getting (though we don't know just what that will be yet). 32_footsteps and I, who are running the event, will also be bringing food and other goodies.
The store is easily accessible by public transportation - take the red line to the Central Square stop. It's only a couple blocks from the station on Pleasant Street. Driving is not recommended, but directions can be provided.
If you have any questions, feel free to PM me.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

I don't think I'm gonna be able to wait this whole week. I might just explode.

Really sorry about the double post, but are we all planning to go out and eat after the meet, or before, or what? Just wondering, so I could plan accordingly.

There was no specific plan for what to do afterwards yet, but I would be willing to head out for food afterwards. There's a pub about a block and a half from Pandemonium with lots of space, good food and big TVs that show the sorts of things referenced by card #126, so we can feel all British too. Unfortunately, it won't be their trivia night (that's Monday), so Team Cube won't be able to show up the MIT/Harvard kidlings that night.

It's not a bar where all there is to do is get drunk and ogle the opposite sex (or the same sex... this is Massachusetts). It's a restaurant that happens to serve alcohol. You should be fine.

In that case, count me in for sure. I wouldn't miss out on a chance to hang with fellow Cube Hunters. Do we have any kind of a count on how many UFers are gonna be there? And we should totally all bring name tags.

Alright, cool. I have the plans from Mind Candy for various events on the day, including a game that I've played more times than might be healthy. Those who come tomorrow can find out which game I mean.

If any Cube Hunters have some state-of-the-art surveillance equipment (i.e. a camcorder), please bring it. We are sadly underprepared in the video recording area.

I'll be bringing a digital camera with a broken LCD screen, or a digital camera that takes blurry photos. Depends on what my girlfriend lets me borrow. Can't help you with the camcorder. I'm ready to go. Hard core style. And I still need a nametag for tomorrow.
/me is super excited.

I would Photoshop Billion to One to have my picture and my name instead of "Find Me" down the side, if I wasn't already busy tonight (and had actual Photosho skills).

Thanks to everyone who attended! I had a lot of fun and was glad to meet all my fellow MA Cube Hunters. Sorry the cube I brought was a fake, though .
I've collected links to the various media we produced and put them on my LiveJournal .
