[UPDATE] Statement from Alvar Hanso on THF.org

THF.org has updated with a statement supposedly by Alvar Hanso:

Quote:
To all:

The path of secrecy is a slippery slope. While necessity may dictate, at times, that we shade ourselves and our work from the all-too-often harsh light of inquiry, habitual secret-keeping can mire even the noblest of intentions in shadow. It is this shadow I fell prey to, blinded not only to the actions of colleagues like Dr. Thomas Werner Mittelwerk, but also to the works of my own hand.

I fear the lessons learned have cost many their happiness. Some few have even lost their lives. My regret for this is endless. But, I assure you now, as I did then, that the work of The Hanso Foundation has always been intended to bring rebirth to a dying land and a dying people.

Our methods must change. As of this moment, The Hanso Foundation enters a period of restructure and overhaul. Transparency and oversight will be our guiding principles, excellence in communication and response to feedback our greatest strengths. To save humanity, we need first tap into just that -- our humanity.

Much time has passed -- perhaps too much. Thanks to the tireless efforts of my daughter, Rachel Blake, and a worldwide movement set against the dark entity that was Thomas Mittelwerk's regime, I have been exonerated and freed from imprisonment. Thanks to the grace and foresight of the Global Welfare Consortium, we at the Hanso Foundation have been given a second chance to build a future that can support, enrich, and cradle us all in peace and joy.

It is to this that I dedicate my life and my Foundation. My only hope is that you will join me.

Namaste,
Alvar Hanso

ETA: Click the word "humanity" at the end of the third paragraph to get a message from Mittelwerk. Thanks to Jetamo and colin for the tip.

I know in one of the stickies or on lostpedia they mention TLE has five acts...It looks like the Fourth act is just starting...and will run though the mini-series in the US...

atleast in my opinion.

Seeing as just about all the players/PMs have pulled back the curtain, I think it's safe to say that the fourth phase is long gone.

This is your typical "Doctor Claw gets away by means of a flying car/submaine" ending scenario. Kinda fun when you think about it, but not a very Lost ending, if I do say so.

"I'll get you, Alvar Hanso! I'll get you and your little girl, too! If it's the last thing I do, I'll get you blarrrahghaghaghahaarhaahblahabrha! You haven't heard the last of Doktor Thomas Werner Mittelwerk..."

Ah, I miss it already lol.

Personally, I think great work all round.

And here's hoping for a follow-up.

Personally, me too. I don't think the resolution was clean enough to justify it being the end - leaving Mittelwerk free with a virus that potentially could kill 30% of the population (two years after the events of the V show, no less) doesn't really give any ofus a sense of accomplishment. Just because Hanso is free, and Rachel found her daddy doesn't a full story make. So I hope they keep it up, or find some way to explain it within the realm of the show... I need to know!

Oh wait... a TWM spinoff comic with him as a Doctor Doom-like figure! Oh man, think of the possibilities as he tries to poison the world's water supply with a virus and is regularly stopped by Daddy-Daughter Combo the Hanso Foundation (like the Hart Foundation in wrestling, but, y'know, superheroes) and the High Conspiraspy, DJ Dan. With appearances by the Retrievers of Truth as all-knowing internet oracles, and Dr. Wally Bole as Rachel's spirit guide and Dog Whisperer!!

And also, you can't forget Liddy Wales as Mittelwerk's Executive Assistant with a heart of gold (and unsure allegiances) and for the firs time, his Right Hand Man, Mr. DICK CHEEVER! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! NOT DICK CHEEVER!

Like all comics, though, Hugh McIntyre will rise from the dead, appearing on the set of "Billy Jimmel," a "fictional" talk show, with a message for the Hansos from Beyond.

Okay, I'm done. I'm just bored at work.

Wow is it over already? I really hope not. As theShaggy stated the are plot holes that need to be tied...or filled, whichever you would do with plotholes. I feel like I should have contributed more to the search at least. Crying or Very sad So sad.

Whats with the writing in off-white at the bottom of the page? I don't have my glasses so I can't make a lick of it.

Not sure, here it is blown up with more contrast. I still can't quite make it all out.

fine print at the bottom of the letter

Life-Extension Project(c) Educational Outreach Imperative(c) Institute for Genomic Advandement(c) Mathematical Forecasting Initative(c)
Worldwide Wellness and Prevention Development Program(c) Educational Outreach Imperative(c) The Hanso Foundation(c)

(the '(c)' is actually the copyright symbol, a C in a circle, I just didn't look for it on my character set.)
