[4400][TRAILHEAD] New ARG
For The 4400 TV Show

I was flipping through random blogs on Blogger and came across a blog created today treating The 4400 as reality. At first I thought it was just fanfic, but then I realized there are several related websites in the works...

The original trailhead (am I using that term correctly?) is
http://www.trans-4m.blogspot.com

Other related websites are... well, I'll let you find them for yourselves. Do you think this deserves any time? It might be fan-created, but it's pretty detailed so far and might turn out to be something.

i remember that show, did it make it through its first season?

Yes, going to season 4 - official website.

Ok, so here's what I found so far with about 5 minutes into it.

So our lead's name is Luc Raineer and her blog is "My Inner Soul. Her friend is kidnapped and the 'nappers left a note saying they were going to force her to take a promycin injection. Luc has to cooperate by following some clues the kidnappers wll leave her.

She mentions a website for a club where her dad plays called Seattle Roll Call (direct link, with less ads) and that it's been "strange" since the kidnapping. The Club History page has only a header which anagrams to "help me". The Bar Menu page has an "item" which anagrams to "why is this happening".

In the blog, Luc says her dad plays on Thursdays, and the Seattle Roll Call schedule shows the band is "Rain on Raineer". In black text, there is a hidden link to "http://www.geocities.com/rain.onraineer/mainpage.html". The site also has some contact info for the band members.

Tomorrow, Luc is going to scan and post the kidnapper's note.

Wow, you're good. I missed the band page. Did you try contacting the band members?

And... Luc is a guy's name, no? Luc says Emmy is... his/her girlfriend... and that they hold hands at the movies and stuff...

Ok, we're on the lookout for a password to let us see the kidnappers' note!

Luc created a password-protected forum where he's going to post the note from the kidnappers. His blog is going to give us clues to the passwords, and we're going to have to find them to be able to see the posts on the forum. There's also a section on the forum for us to discuss the clues. I'm guessing there's a clue in his latest blog post, but I don't know what it is...

That's probably true... but it seems pretty elaborate. Maybe they couldn't get a good budget for it so they're using free/lowcost stuff. Who knows. I'm gonna follow it anyway. Luc posted the note, but again, we need the password.

OK, I think it's safe to say this is an ARG, even if it's not officially corporate-sponsored... Seems pretty elaborate to me. At what point does it get moved to ARGS WITH POTENTIAL?

In his It's Too Early For This... post, Luc says he has "43 things to do today". Searching on http://43things.com, I found his list. #19 says "let everyone know the4400arekillers". In the forums, there is section protected by the password "the4400arekillers". The note is at http://i12.tinypic.com/42s8yvn.jpg and attached here. Playing the the color balance and rotating, I found the words "www.EYE14.Blogger" - or http://eye14.blogspot.com/. There is one post from the kidnappers saying we should "Watch the club for further instructions" - probably something is going to change at Seattle Roll Call.

Nifty sleuthing, that right there. Keeping in-game, you have to let Luc know about it, don't you? Obviously he hasn't seen that eye14 website or he probably would have blogged about it. I'm gonna comment it on his blog. You should email him/join the forum/something of the sort... right? Isn't that ARG protocol?

And... is it just me, or is the Seattle Roll Call website down? Maybe they're making changes, but I can't get to it right now.

Couple things, not sure if I missed before or if they are new.

On the main page of Seattle Roll Call, there are four italic letters, spelling "help". There is also a new Updates section, blank currently.

On the band contact page, there is now hidden text "for information on the whereabouts of emmy van email 2-1-4-3". I emailed all the band member addresses and three of em reply with:

Hey there, lostpedian! I'm assuming you got my email address from my band (Rain On Raineer)'s homepage. (http://www.geocities.com/rain.onraineer/mainpage.html) Glad to see you're interested in our music! Come to Seattle Roll Call on Thursday at 10 to hear us play!

That morse code message is odd... I wonder what it means? The other emails were all the same though? And nothing from Luc. Hmm.

Maybe he's not online right now. You should post it to the forum just in case... that's what he made it for.

I got Seattle Roll Call to work, finally. Nothing new.

HOW did you find that hidden text on the Contact Info page? Do you have an update-finder or something? I couldn't see it until I highlighted it. How did you even know to check it?! Razz

I'm jealous.

And, the HELP on the Seattle Roll Call page has been there since last night, if not the beginning of the ARG.

I can't tell you how happy I was when I saw your email. There's someone paying attention to what's happening to me! Thank you so much for your information... I'm headed to that website right now. It's not too frightening, is it? There are no pictures of Emmy tied up, dead?

I can't believe I missed that on the note. Looking at it now, it's obvious. I guess I need to start paying more attention to the clues I get.

Seattle Roll Call was updated again. Stan Cherry removed the hacks (help me, why is this happening) and said he's going to have to be careful. There's a new section, called UPDATES. Luc's latest post said he hopes the hacks weren't important, now that we've been directed to pay attention to the club. I think it's safe to assume, though, that Stan Cherry's update isn't our further instructions from the kidnappers.

We also need to figure out that email clue on the Contact_Info page. I have no ideas... anyone else?

And, can a mod possibly change the title from POSSIBLE NEW ARG? to NEW 4400 ARG! Because I'm a guest I can't edit it.

I was scrolling through Luc's 43 Things and #16 is "make paul smile." Paul is the bouncer at Seattle Roll Call. Also, this might turn out to be something. I wonder if Katrina is going to be a part of the game later?
