 		[META] Summary Story So Far
Some friends said they would play PPC if I wrote a short summary so they could get started. So here goes:

The revered but poorly understood Receda Cube, last seen in the Museum of the Academy of Perplex City on the night of the Academy Ball, arrives on Earth. A Perplexian called "Combed Thunderclap" claims to have traveled with it, and once on Earth, promptly buried it. Various parties want it back.

Sente Kiteway, Master of the Academy employs his strongest advantage, a data link between Earth and Perplex City, enticing us with a large reward for finding it for him. He assembles the Cube Recovery Team - notable members are Garnet, Anna, Kurt and Caine -who work with Mind Candy, a UK company, to design and distribute puzzle cards telling us about PPC. Also certain websites and blogs are accessible to us.

"V" almost had the Cube, his team had killed a guard and were close, but the Cube disappeared before they got it. "V" represents the Third Power, or the 3P, an ancient sect that worships the Cube or its power or both. V's approach to retrieve the Cube is to steal parts from the Academy, build a wormhole portal, blow every circuit on PPC and send people to Earth to find it. This isn't without risk, he has to murder two of the original members of the Cube Theft Crew, Monica Grand and Bernard Holyoake, and an interfering newspaper reporter, Pietro Salk. He ultimately succeeds.

Sente's two daughters, Violet and Scarlett, run about on their own tangents which they blog for us. Violet's tangent involves a coded diary written by Anthony Granier 300 years ago about an experiment that kills several people during the "War" which is an almost taboo subject in PPC. The 3P (or someone) wants the diary kept quiet. Unaware of the danger, Isaac Cymbolisity, diary translator, is murdered by Miranda, Kurt's girlfriend who was an agent posing as a librarian. Later, Kurt kills Miranda in a dramatic confrontation.

Scarlett's tangent involves a secret research facility in a mysterious unmapped place called Viendebourg. Whatever they are doing, it sounds vaguely like the experiment Granier performed and Sente knows about it. The parts the 3P stole for the wormhole were destined for Viendenbourg. Scarlett also unearths the final member of the original 3P Cube theft team - Claire Castille. Claire, a brilliant programmer worked at Viendebourg but is now at Ansjbourg. Her family have been unjustly blamed for something that happened years ago and have ever since worked to redeem their honor.

Official investigations into the Cube theft, the murders and the parts are covered up. Our only insider is Helene Frye, a police detective who seems to have gone undercover. She keeps in touch with Kurt. For a while, Anna, Kurt, Caine, Violet and Scarlett tried to track down the parts. Sadly, Anna is brutally murdered, probably by V. Caine decamps. Violet and Scarlett depart to follow a new clue from Anthony Granier.

We don't know who to trust about anything.

Here on Earth, besides helping Violet, Scarlett, and Kurt when we can, we solve puzzles, get points and leitmarks from PPC. The puzzle cards also contain META puzzles distributed over the cards including notations of a standard deck of playing cards on each of the prime number cards, Risk pieces and dice, some blobs that might be something and several sets of two series of numbers "facing" each other. We solved one of these puzzles which led us to Combed Thunderclap.

Up to the latest
update to the first post in this thread, following on from the last paragraph which I will repeat here:

The new clue turns out to be a map to a location in a group of some islands off the coast of PPC called the Lancewood Archipelago where a lighthouse used to exist. The location is tricky to navigate, but the Reconstructionists give Violet a guide to get there. Violet and Scarlett find an underground lab, Kurt creates a chat link where we watch them talk in real time as they explore. The girls find lots of historic stuff showing that experiments leading up to the construction of the Cube were conducted here. Granier worked here with Mountling, who ran the lab,the two of them went to Viendenbourg as recounted in the Granier Diaries.

While in the lab, the girls run into Major Maine, an apparent victim of a failed experiment, the Major "drowns" in EM waves. He attacks Violet to turn of her key, breaking her arm; so Scarlett shoots him. As he is dying in a lead lined room of the lab, he reveals a little information. His unit was 487- the same number as the Special Project.

The girls go home, Violet and Caine make up a bit and Violet and Scarlett decide Viendenburg is their next stop.
