[UPDATE] Wongmo mailbag [Nov 9]
Quote:
Once again, Wongmo tackles the touchy issues you all face in your lives. Read on for words of wisdom from the master!

From C. Wood
Dear Wongmo,I was intrigued by one of the submissions to your student showcase, the song by Dina N. I have heard at least one other bit of music by Dina, and it leaves me wanting more. Do you know how I could get in touch with Dina? Does she have a website where I might find more of her material? Thanks! Aloha! Namaste!
Answer:
Aloha!
Dina N is one of Wongmo's most promising students. Her innate musical ability is being nurtured via her participation in several of Wongmo's ongoing courses and she has proven to be a capable student.
Wongmo does not have any web site information for her but should she set up a site where you can listen to her work Wongmo would be pleased to pass it along.

Hello I am very interested in what your company does and what it could do for me as well. I would greatly appreciate any information you could provide me. I would even like to interview anyone willing to talk to me. Thank you for your time.
Answer:
Wongmo is flattered by your interest but regrets to inform that he only uses outside assistance during seminar periods. Have you considered temp agencies?
Keep watching for future seminar announcements and drop Wongmo a line closer to the next one!

From M.R.
Do you ever think that humans will actually be able to create a computer program with the ability to reason and learn. One of the most amazing things about humans is their ability to do the unexpected. I can't imagine a computer program being able to do that....or imagine for that matter. Your thoughts?
Answer:
While Wongmo is certainly no expert on electronics or artificial intellgence, he does believe that some day soon computers will be able to display some rudimentary form of intelligence.
As for machines imagining, as Wongmo often says, the imagination of the dolphin is no different than that of the man; their waters are equally blue.

From R. F.
Dear Wongmo, Do you believe that we would have joy in our lives, if we did not have sorrow?
Answer:
Wongmo passionately believes joy can exist apart from sorrow. Saying one cannot exist without the other is like saying the sea urchin cannot exist without the manatee. They are interrelated but not reliant upon one another for their existence.

We're a group of fans and we would like to celebrate your 44th birthday next july inour wongmolicious way. That will be a great meeting of your fans. Will you join us on that date?
Answer:
Please send Wongmo details, including location. While Wongmo cannot make promises to appear eight months away, if schedules permit he may try to work something out.
Meeting Wongmo fans over pina coladas and margaritas is the kind of chore Wongmo looks forward to. Keep in touch!

From J. B.
Wongmo,Why do you always refer to yourself in the 3rd person?
Answer:
To truly see the Self and understand the Self, one must remove one's self from the Self. Thus, in order to keep his karmic self focused, Wongmo refers to himself from a place outside of the Self.
Thanks for asking!

That's all for this week, but check back as Wongmo answers the tough questions in your life!
Peace!

Okay this one's hard. Most of the time there's at least one letter we can count on for being in-game.
So who wrote what?
Anyway, what about these banners (and CD cover)? They all seem to be of the same picture.
CD cover:
Now it's completely understandable that wongmo just got the following banners from the CD cover:
Do you see the difference in the two banners? It's probably no clue, just raising a question, without saying whether it's a clue or not. I'm good at that.

Just for the record, even though I have previously noted Wongie's propensity for referring to himself in the 3rd person, "J.B." is not me.

R.F is me. I don't know what possessed me to write such a sappy question. I suppose I wanted to see if he would talk about balance.
...Which he didn't.
So. Y'know. Failed attempt.

Yeah, as soon as I read the question to him I was expecting the whole "There is no good without evil" stuff, but it didn't happen.
It's pretty clear that Wongmo isn't going to spill the beans in the weekly mailbag.

J.B. is me
He cut the important part of my question though, the original was:
Quote:
Why do you always refer to yourself in the 3rd person? Is it because you're pretending to be something you're not?
Mysterious eh? And yet he posted the rest.

Yes, I sent the one posted as being from "C. Wood" and my text is there in its entirety. They only collapsed all my line spacing and word breaks. (and no, I never sign anything as C.Wood, so that was something they did to "disguise" me.)

Which is interesting, Catherwood, because the Wongmo denies knowledge of Dinas website... which means he doesn't know about it (and Dina is playing him) or he DOES know about it and is trying to play everyone else... hmmm...
Wongmo as anything more than an amusing distraction is not an idea I take lightly to, so at this stage I'm thinking Dina is being a litlle more sneaky-sneaky than we expected. I could be wrong, of course and it could be the other way round (Wongmo doesn't want Dinas' pretty music distracting people from him) but.. aww buggrit I dunno...

Oh, good point... Dina seems like she trusts Wongmo. As much as it hurts me to suspect him of anything...let's say Wongmo likes to brainwash people. Spec-ing away wildly suggests that Wongmo erased the Nekodas' memories, and now he's monitoring them through Dina to make sure they don't find out anything they're not supposed to. If that's the case, they're in a lot of trouble! If that's true, though, then he didn't point his readers to her site because, if she does discover something and writes about it there, he doesn't want others (especially his loyal fans) to find out about it.

Or, if we entertain for the moment the possibility that Wongmo may not be a sinister mastermind, he is simply protecting Dina's privacy.
In her "pulling back" post to her blog she clearly indicates her desire to withdraw from most of the internet. If Wongmo is one of those people who knows how to get to her blog (and it wouldn't surprise me if he was), then he could simply be protecting her privacy.
Or he doesn't know. But how would his ignorance indicate that Dina is "playing him"? It could be that she just doesn't feel comfortable with him reading her blog, or never bothered to tell him about the website.
Personally, I think Wongmo is a bit player in this. He's pretentious and he has a cult following of distraught females, but I just see him as a goofy, new-age artist and a quack.
Of course, you'll be the ones laughing when Wongmo turns out to be none other than Caesar.
