As a bit of an experiment I have just been through the log from the first Receda's Revenge and plotted the path and locations visited onto the Perplex City map (we didn't have the bits of the map needed to do this at the time).
Here's how it turned out
It doesn't include the underground bit, since I couldn't come up with a good way to represent that.
Assuming this next one is still set within Perplex City, I'll try to follow along and map it live.

Unfortunately I will miss this event. However I have an idea - which may be worth considering.
We have lots of strings of numbers from the cards, which we have speculated mean directions. They could be directions within recedas revenge. I would suggest that if this is the case then the first and last numbers mean something like level in the game.

I bumped the thread from the first recedas revenge to refresh recollections. Whether it will be a similar or different game, no idea. No directions posted yet for round 2, right?
Moomin, at this point all I can suggest is you make sure you know how to get into irc and find the general chat for PXC - I assume there will be heavy chatter there or in a related room during the game as people try to figure out clues.

Not dim. IRC can be confusing if you've never used it before.
The easiest way to get into #syzygy, the channel that we use for general Perplex City chat, is via the web interface . Just click that link, and you'll be taken directly into the channel. Your browser may require you to download a plugin in order to use this interface.
Otherwise, you can use an IRC client. Many such clients exist. mIRC is extremely popular. I used to use mIRC myself, but I got mad at it 'cause it forgot that I had bought the program and kept nagging me to pay even though I already had. So I use Chatzilla now, which is a Firefox extension. It's simple and easy to use, which is all I need (don't need any eye candy!).
You may also be able to connect to IRC using your favorite instant messaging application. Many of the multi-protocol apps include support for IRC; for example, i'm pretty sure Trillian does.
Once you've got your IRC client installed, you can set its parameters to use server irc.chat-solutions.org . In Chatzilla, you can easily do this by typing this command at the main window: /server irc.chat-solutions.org . Then once you're connected, type /join #syzygy to join the channel. You'll also want to choose a nickname, or "nick" for yourself; you can do that with /nick name .
That's the basics! I hope to see you in #syzygy sometime.

I'm not even sure how to follow the event. I've got IRC working ok but I'm not sure what else I have to do. Nothing like being a newbie

more info will surely be posted tomorrow (or later today in some cases) but if you check out the directions from the last one, the game was played in one 'room' and chat in regards to the game was held in another.
it reminds me of the Hitchhikers Guide text based adventure (which everyone simply needs to play..)
