All Good Things...

Well, I'm throwing the last of my stuff into the suitcase, and getting ready to head out to the airport. I guess all good things must come to an end, and ARGfest is no exception. I had a wonderful time, my batteries are fully recharged, and I'm ready to returnb to Real Life. It was great seeing everyone, greeting old friends and meeting new ones. And before I start getting all teary-eyed, I just wanted to say that you guys are the best!

I'll just paraphrase former International Olympic Committee president Juan Antonio Samarach, and declare that ARGfest Orlando was the best ARGfest ever.

It was indeed a huge giant blast seeing everyone. Pictures to come later when my brain is working better. Props to imbri and Dia for helping us plan fun adventures in Universal and Disney -land.

BTW, in addition to jamesi's chocolate and the golden ticket, Mart did indeed bring a cipher puzzle which apparently had some editorial problems in the first phase. It turns out if you have Mart right there, you can solve his puzzles quickly - by handing them to space and greywyvern and letting them decipher BY HAND while Mart observes when errors crop up and provides corrections! All talented young men.

Then there's the game stuff that popped up - although I'm sure the info is posted at relevant game threads -- both addlepated and magesteff received mysterious security badges relating to Acheron (with a note in purple crayon).

And apparently the metacortechs crowd had something to find in Orlando - haven't read all the mail, don't know if anyone found it.

Personally, I'm a bit surprised that MORE incriminating photos haven't surfaced yet. Razz

Ursula, we wished you were there too, my friend. Sunny did indeed have a drink for you, got hugs and we had lots of fun.
BTW we will be kidnapping you for the next one in Vancouver.

Jamesi's Aero Bar Surprise

jamesi followed through and made his parents deliver aero bars to the ARGFest. What a treat! What great parents!

But even better - each bar had wrapped in side a golden ticket!

Mart actually solved this thing in his head, but it says it can only be shared with one person. Hopefully he meant only one person at the fest - hey jamesi, can we share the puzzle????

argfest 2

I don't have much time here, I'm only home for a few hours and then back on the road. This time to the races. It was great, both Curtis and I had a wonderful time and I can't wait to do this again with everyone. I vote for a cruise, it's the only way I'll ever get to go on a cruise, (he won't go). When I get home, sometime next week, I'm going to post some pics and more. Everyone was wonderful and I'm so glad I went. Cool

Notwithstanding what the first page says, I don't think you have to join to see these. If it does make you join, you'll need a nick and an email address but you don't have to buy anything! Just click the "view photos" button.

Here's the link for my photos of the weekend:

Nothing fancy, but here are a few more samples of tourist photos from Orlando. We did the Universal scavenger hunt with the Addlepateds (she already posted the photographic evidence). Then next day was Epcot Food & Wine (wish it wasn't so darn chilly and wet that day - I would have sampled more food & wine booths). If you get there, get over to Mission Space ride first (and hope you don't have a problem with motion sickness). For our last day, the konas tried MGM Studios (Tower of Terror was great!).

Absolutely. The Aero bars, although they play an important part early on, are just the means of transportation for the puzzle.

So it was just a limit on sharing the chocolate?! No sweat. I didn't share THAT with anybody. Smile Those Aero Bars are damn fine.

Anyhoo, now for a little nostalgia for chocolate lovers, the text of the ticket tucked under the wrapper of our treat:

Jamesi's Golden Ticket

Greetings to you, the lucky finder of this Golden Ticket, from jamesi. Tremendous things are in store for you! Many wonderful surprises await you! You may share this ticket with one friend...and only one...but no one else.

Like I said, Mart started this puzzle in his head at the dinner table (figuring out the cipher and where to start), finished with pen and paper before the meal was over. No pressure.

Well, I finally got all my ARGfest pictures uploaded and arranged into some semblence of order. You can review my feeble attempts at photography here:
