the real puzzle

Lovek, first, is there a set of blanks on # 7's envelope (like the one in #6) or just the "7/8" like on #5's envelope?
Also, is there any writing on the insides of the clear-taped "outer" envelopes, or on the insides of the duct taped "inner" envelopes?
the "hangman" diagrams look like a puzzle, but theres not enough of them to figure it out, i think...

BTW i promise i'll send in a solution this time, so you're not alone trying to post it all. lol

Anyway, I couldn't find any words with a "VJ" in them, although I don't know whether that's the right start.

#7 is just like # 5... it only says "7/8"

Unfortunately I was a moron and left the envelopes at work today. But, I did look inside the envelopes when I first opened them and didn't see any writing. I'll look more carefully tomorrow.

Oops, yeah, sorry. It does indeed say "7/8". I've edited the above post.

Just to confirm... I saw no writing, marking, etc. on the inside of any envelopes (double-checked this morning). But do remember that the last cut-out has the words "four one" written in red ink on the back (there isn't a photo, but I can get one tonight if you'd like to see it).

we definitely do not have enough people in on this one.

i've been pretty busy the last couple days, has anyone else had any insights as to the 2 words we need?

Our friends at tCotSA have sent us a clue. I really hope we can get more people on this. Whoever is running it seems to be dedicated, and I'd hate to see their effort go to waste.

This envelope and page are larger than the last. I cant' find my tape measure, but I'm guessing about 12" x 16" for the page with the envelope being between an inch or two longer in width and length. The frayed edges on the envelope were there when I received the letter. The tape was lots of badly done Scotch tape (I only mention because the type of tape is different every time):

okay. the words themselves are meaningless, but the papers have significance.

is there any writing on the cutouts, at all?

or weird extra cuts, etc...?

edit: btw, lagniappe means "gift thrown in extra" like the 13th donut in a baker's dozen, so the puzzle clue is a gift thrown in by them for our hard work

Lovek, when you get a chance, I don't suppose you'd be willing to trace off all 8 puzzles from the originals, in order across a sheet with the new one at the end, and put em in one higher rez image for us?

the creased elements comment is still bugging me. This is wht I have managed to construct from the lines/letters so far:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
ACROSS
O _ _
_ _ C

DOWN

How did you go about doing this?

There aren't any cuts that seem like they don't belong. They all go toward forming the letters.

As I mentioned there are two cutouts with writing.

One (the one that says "THIS PHR" has the tCotSA logo on the back, just like the one found here.

The other (the one that says "CHITPROM") has "four one" written on the back, in red ink, very similar to here.

I'll try to get it done soon.

tCotSA
Possible meaning

Hi one and all.

Look at me, just learned about arg's this week and already i have something to offer !

Unfortunatly its probably nothing but you never know.

I used to frequent www.cotse.com Otherwise known as The Church of the Swimming Elephant.

As soon as i saw the tCotSA letters i wondered if maybe its a similar idea. Aardvark maybe ?

Anyway, i only skimmed to see if this had been mentioned. Now ill check the rest of the details.

This is fun.

Just to clear up confusion, the first letters we received told us what tCotSA stands for: the Committee of the Sedulous Amalgamation.

Maybe you can unfold the cutouts and lay them on top of each other?

Not sure what that would accomplish. Maybe it'd spell something, or open a mystical portal to the 7th circle of Hell, or turn into a sandwich or something.
