[SOLVED] Blue - #148 - Serious Scientific Sokoban (Star set)

Apologies in advance - my piece-of-s**t scanner is being uncooperative today - I'll try to get images up ASAP.

On week three of the hit Perplex City reality TV show, 'The Lab', Evan ordered a new fume hoodafter the other labmates threatened to throw him out because of his atrociously smelly experiments. The producers of the show used this opportunity to set Evan a puzzle and left him the crate containing the fume hood in a storage room full of unmovable obstacles.

{diagram}

Evan has to enter from the south of the room and leave with the crate by the same door. If he can only push the crate from behind (he can't quite manage to pull it), what is the shortest sequence of lettered checkpoints that the crate must pass over on its way out?

...signature - Kurt
...guest artist - Andrea Gilbert
...reverse of card - map showing 'Von's House', 'Fenlon's', Polygon Approach, Van Den Huyghes Street and Sidney Lane

Mm...I think that "The Lab" should invest in some gym equipment so that:

Ah, this card reminds me of an old Amiga puzzle game called X-It.... anyone else remember it? I loved that game.

Although with no radiation, explosives, power pills, ice, glue or electromagnets, this card is considerably easier. Razz

I was looking "out side the box" and thought why don't you push it diagonlly then you can do it in four.

If you could push it diagonally, yeah. A fume hood is a really big and quite heavy piece of equipment and you'd have a difficult time getting enough leverage to push its crate on one of the corners, so the assumption made in the puzzle is that you would have to push it from one of its flat sides to get it to move. Uh, that's my theory, anyway. Smile

(Yeah, you could rotate the crate, I suppose. I think it'd be easier to just push it straight, though. Smile )

You played it because you had no other game to play? IDK. Don't feel bad about it, I still play it because its the only decent game on my comp at home.
