Spotty - that is about the best "rabbit hole" into alternate reality gaming that I've ever heard.

Welcome! Your curious spy on your roommate nature is just about perfect for this crazy stuff Wink

So, while I know this is obvious info now, just for the record, the countdown will expire (central time, which most (if not all... I'm lazy) of Texas is in):

November 11th, at 11:11am (and while I'm not positive, I'm pretty sure it's 11 seconds as well...)

Anyway, yeah. I'm psyched about this one...

Cute - Just looked through the blog and noticed that the writer of the book in blog "Great Prophets of the Second Millennium" by Maxine deSauch anagrams to -=Deus ex Machina=- Very Happy

Well, did I pick a time to jump into this one or what. From what I gathered this is going to be a big one, in 11 hours and 14 minutes. Its going to be nice working with some of you again.

Yays! Another game set in Texas that I happen onto just as it's starting.

I probably won't be making the deaddrops, as they're probably going to be five hours away. But, I probably won't have to read John Dee and Crowley again, either.

Edit: Looking over the plot - I have to say I really like this idea. I'm wondering what fututre-Adam is going to be sending and from how far. I'm guessing that is dependent on how long it's going to take him or an associate to acquire the funding to get a large laser/microwave array up and aimed at present-day's Earth/Dallas location.

Since this game seems fairly lighthearted so far, I'll drop a little humorous [spec]. The communication from the future is going to be very psychologically damaging to whomever receives it. It will either be personal information that injures one listener, general historical information that can hurt many listeners a'la the butterfly effect or trivial information that hurts ALL listeners.

Don't see why the trivia is so dangerous? Imagine the effects on your younger self, say ten years ago, of your favorite viral video. I don't know about most of you, but my tastes have gotten steadily crasser and more "refined" by the slow escalation of the stickiness of the videos in response to the increasing jadedness of the viewers. Funny videos that amuse us today would shock, horrify, and give entirely the wrong impression of the present to earlier selves amused by dancing infants or rodents. How much more horrible and sanity-wrecking could the humor of the future be? I think very horrible, if my complete guesses as to the accelerating rate of messed-up-edness are true. I think we're seeing a doubling of disturbingness every every 12-14 months. In 1998, I thought a dancing CGI baby was cute, now I guffaw at a party video where scantily-clad young adults drink and attack each other with tazers. How much more depraved can my taste get?

We are in deep doo-doo in less than eight hours folks. Googtube is coming for our souls.

Edit, the second: The above has been posted to the blog, it's too good to waste.

New to ARGs here, as well... meant to get into Last Call P*ker once upon a time, but got distracted along the way. Finally, one I can be around for!

Sorry for the quasi-doublepost, guys.

Looks like it worked:

Video here:

Also on the blog:

EDIT: Apparently the video is now set to private, but there was briefly another video from the same author. Still works on the deuscity page, though.

Pretty cool. Messages from the future and so forth.

I guess the first place to start is the chunk of images on the end of the broadcast. Looked they were in a specific sequence that repeated a couple of times, so it might be an acronym-type puzzle.

Actually, it's pretty hard to even see what that the images are, so hopefully Brackin will decide to share it with the world.

After watching the ending a dozen times I'm agree with whoever said it repeats. The only obvious notable things I saw were a dozen newspaper articals on time travel, a photo of Albert Einstein, something that looks like a spaceship (timeship?), the cover of a Time magazine (haha...wow, thats funny, as well as attached), what looked to be another blog along with a bunch of strange graphs and other things.

Actually, it looks like Time, but actually is NME, but with a wierd N.

It looked like Einstein wormhole theory with a bunch of other stuff that unfortunately were to small for me to see.
