I got it.... I got the final solve as well...don't know if I'm in the first 7 or not, I doubt it, but it was a hell of a lot of fun...
Way to go Diandra and the rest of the Unfiction gang!!!

Woohoo I got my notification this morning that I was, in fact, the first person to solve the mini-quest.
I was a little shy about coming forward until I knew I'd won, because although I was first to solve it in #unfiction, someone who wasn't there could have beaten me to the answer!
We had a really great time in the chat, so I'd like to thank SpaceBass for making it possible. I'd also like to thank everyone else who attended. Even though I was first to complete the final solve, getting to that point was truly a team effort.
Finally, I want to publicly thank the people at CTW for engaging our minds. I can't wait to play the game!

Winners! Congratulations Diandra! Well deserved!!!!
I just want to thank everyone in this forum--it was great interacting and playing the mini-game with you.
I got a notification too, this morning....I was caller number 5! I chose the spiffy mug...but it couldn't--no, definitely wouldn't--have been accomplished without the help I received from the crew here.
So when I get my mug I will raise it in a toast to Unfiction! Thank you very much for a fun filled experience.
Sassy
PS: I think poor Gene Warren in Phoenix, AZ should get a mug, too, for having the misfortune of being the owner of a certain phone number.

Yes, I would agree that this goes a long way in making a Mission Statement of sorts.

Actually, major props to Diandra, but to everyone else as well. It was such a fun day working with you all on this.
I cannot wait until it the 'real thing'. If it's 1/2 as fun as the mini quest was, it will be a total blast. I am so excited

Well, shoot, got called away this weekend and missed the mini-quest. I worked through the puzzle with the help of this thread, but can't get the final solution. Not making the connection between wizardofoz and the phone number? Any more hints?

UNFICTION IS TOPS! I played with ya'll from start to finsih and although I didn't get in as a winner it was one of the "high" points of any game I have ever played! Why? Because every person on this board worked as a group! I can not thank each of you enough for your sportsman-like behavior! (Special thanks to who ever figured out the cooridinates!... I'd still be stuck at that place in the quest were it not for your help!) Again, Thanks to each of you for making life fun again!!! (And thanks to the PM's at CTW for a great game What a wonderful group of people ya'll all are!

I wanted to throw my thanks into the pot.
Thank you EVERYONE for making this mini-trek a blast! I gotta say, without the board members (both here and in the IRC room) I probably woldn't be looking forward to "the real thing" nearly half as much as I am.
I enjoyed the journey, but did have a teen-tiny beef or two.
The first part: I'm still kicking myself for not having my brain re-tuned to remember to check the Source Code EVERY SINGLE TIME. I only played the Beast from the sidelines, so it never became force of habit to actually go there. (Conversely, The Stone has trained me to ALWAYS "select all" in search of BOB-black on black). My gut reaction was "Well, it's all fine and good to hide clues there, but there should always be a second path within the page. Make the source code the easy way, and something slightly (or highly) more difficult in front of us. I thought the found words (the BOB) could have somehow pointed us to the hidden phrase....either bisected letters, or arrows created by the circles.....
Which leads me to beef number 2-
The BOB words were left basically unused. When the hint was revealed, the plus/minus numbers were not the ONLY unused pieces. Unless you consider a flat out red herring/dead end a use. I have no problem with red herrings/dead ends...but don't then ask us to use what's been unused.
However, as I said, all in all......
YAY US!
