It's over After weeks of waiting, we get wrap-up post and a lame video message from our favorite psychic gay classical music-enthusiast explaining that she is the reincarnation of Mozart.
Then we get a survey from the PMs (Xenophile Media) asking what we thought.
If I don't stop typing right now, I will likely explode upon this page a stream of obscenity which would get me banned.

This is an embarrassing end.

Lostpedian--- thanks for providing a link to the survey. I think that a lot of us never got the e-mails. I posted a note on the other board
Thanks again

I only lurked, but I did get the email to the survey. Filled it out making my (our) opinion very clear.

Likewise, and while I think LP's comment was pretty rude, it was definitely a sad, infuriating ending.
Madam Steph answered some questions, posing a new, interesting tidbit about the musical connections, and her wig...
Otherwise, pretty much everyone is upset over how the arg ended (supposedly), and no one is sure if it will come back in the future or not, since EWO's last message says 'for now' - though the survey seems to be pretty clear in that the ARG is over, as it stands.
Not happy. Not that it's over, but how it came to be so.
The ingame forums are a-buzz

Did you miss the part where she tied everything together by explaining that she was the reincarnation of Mozart?
They're lucky I don't get really rude.

I honestly think that was just scrapped at the last second and they don't have the decency to tell us so they just whip up a half-assed ending and tell us to like it.

It's Cancelled Welcome to Network TV. A show doesn't get the ratings that the producers and the network desires? They cancel it. BANG. No nice wrap up, no wind down, no conclusion. It's just GONE.
At least you guys got some closure to the storyline.

Yes, I did. And her comments are entirely in character.
There are people looking at the various strings of notes and comparing it to the piece of music she refered to. If there is a connection, then no I don't believe it was 'whipped up as a half-assed ending' (to quote zazaban), but an actual underlying element to the plot that we missed (which ultimately isn't entirely our fault anyway).
While I detest the ending, as I've said plenty of times, the plot is fine. The ending is awful for an ARG. From a plot standpoint, it's a standard cliffhanger - though by definition a cliffhanger precedes a followup. Which is why this is a ridiculous ARG ending, because the PMs are essentially stating OOG that there will be no followup, while IG the door is left open for more.

Exactly like network television. For example "Surface".....leaves us with a cliffhanger of sorts (the coast underwater and large creatures swimming around while our heros are stuck in the bell tower) and the network says "cancelled". IG open door, OOG no more.
Ohhh, that rhymes.

Oh surface, I can't believe they dropped that one...
And Threshold. *tsk*

I <3 it! Coin it, we should use it to describe when that happens to ARGs premature ending out of the PMs control. hehe
Incidentally, that's the only way I could respect the ending - if the disrespect goes to TPTB, who 'cancelled' the ARG. In that case the PMs likely did what they could, and probably didn't want this ending either.

AH! Threshold! I loved that show... there was a marathon on SciFi yesterday. That made me so mad when it was canceled.

And really, there was no closure to the major plot either. it just stopped.
