Juxta, are you saying that if you are given any as-yet-unreleased cards then after scanning them in for the benefit of others you are not supposed to try any answers?

Edit: Again, forget it, I took a walk outside and realised that there really are some things which simply aren't worth the effort to get stressed over.

Happy trails

Do we know who the child is in this photo? Could it be one of the Mind Candy team?

Possibly already decided as this was some ago.

But if is still not known I can confirm that this is a young Justin Berkovi the designer of this card and Close Up.

How on earth is anyone who has never used photoshop ever expected to figure out a card like this?!? Sad

I found some good websites for downloading filters, but there must be 1000's and it's hard /impossible to find good samples in many cases.

The only place I could find to give me a clue was here, and all you've done is give the answer! I do puzzles to stretch my mind a bit, and I can't see anyway of doing this one.

Grrrrrrr... Evil or Very Mad

Sometimes the best way to solve a puzzle is to talk to your friends who have knowledge in other areas. Like here.

I'm a Paint Shop Pro junkie, and I recognised some of the filters, but they are under different names Sad I ended up using the same sort of sites as you, and was just as frustrated...

I have to say this has been my favorite card so far! Of course, I'm a graphic artist/web designer, so it was pretty simple for me. I had to play around in PS a little bit to make sure, but fun fun fun!

On the other hand, there are MANY other cards that I just cannot stand. I make an attempt at every card - and sometimes I end up here. Trying to confirm my guess, and getting a completely different answer from the card's thread.

So that's the beauty of this game. Working together to find the answers. Very Happy

for anyone asking how anyone who hasn't used photoshop would get the answer, you can simply download the trial and try the filters out yourself.

Should have looked at the date of the last post, but im too tired and lazy to hit 'back' on my browser and see if neone is gonna care but oh well. I found almost all of the answers using a dl'd trial of PS6. Just went through each filter and found them pretty easy. I used the original pic (link to it posted above, sorry, to lazy to give do credit to whoever credit is due to but ur a super person. Heck im wasted- everyones a super person tonight. I love u all
Ok bak to the card, heres wat i had some trouble wit...
Spoiler (Rollover to View):

I could not find Lens Flare, but this is my first time using PS so maybe im just missing it (if neone knows... if it under filters?) Also, i had no clue if (1) should have been film grain or noise, and (4) i originally thot was fragment, but looking bak at the screen shots i took of my messing around the answer makes sense-- got lens flare off here and luckily guessed right for 1 and 4

ok thanks Gibbet for finding who the person was- made it was easier using the filters on that image cause all i had to do was make the images look the same (im not sure i am still making sense, but i only have a little more to go...) Thanks Oliverkeers13 [and he thanks the rest of the people here so I figure by thanking him ive covered my bases].

Oh, im sure everyone knows this already but on the back of the card the area above the building labeled PCTA is the very bottom of that key shapped, um, fountain? area dug into ground and filled with water but i dont think its for swimming... i forgot if that card said nething on it... ok i thinks thats all the sensible stuff on my mind...

I under stand your concern that there are no real hints posted in this thread, just rollovers to the answer. I only usually only check the forums to see if the answers I have written down will be accepted. After spending a few hours determining what the answer to a card is, I do not want to be stuck trying to see what the website will accept. In this case with the names of the different filters I needed to see if the site wanted specific adjetives for the filter (see answer to image four).

Anyway, here are a few hints.

Try to search the internet for the most commonly used Photoshop filters. Number three is, from what I have read, considered to be the most popular.

Thats about it. You really need access to Adobe Photoshop, or read this forum, to solve this card. This wouldn't be a problem except that Photoshop is very expensive. You can preorder Creative Suite 3 for $650 USD, I and think you might be able to get an older version (CS2) for 100-150.

My girlfriend is way into graphic design so she has a copy. I asked her how many filters photoshop has and she said, "Like a billion." I had never used the program before today, but now that I have answered the card I'd say its more like 50.

If you can get a copy of the program, either get the image from someone's post who found the image on the net, or do what I did and google "child piano" images and mess around with one of those. Though I was new to photoshop, its good to point out that if you want to solve if for yourself, there is a tab called "filters," and you just need to mess with that.

If you do not have a graphic artist for a significant other, maybe your local library has a copy of Photoshop on thier computers. Alternatively, photocopy shops should have them or possibly some places that develope photographs. Or you could buy the program. But frankly, its only 36 points, and season one is over. So, if you can't use Photoshop, just get the answers off this forum and input them.

Although, except for number two, its possible to just guess the names of the filters used. Just think of a filter as an effect. Especially 5 and 3 if you've ever seen cops or poor photographs.

Just in referance to yours previous post, photoshop elements would be just as good and is a LOT cheaper than CS2/3
