In the past week, Betty was captured by Spoocheeeee, tortured by Mr Abbott (and Mr Alan Johnson) in an attempt to get their hands on "the book" but then mysteriously let go. She allegedly contacted Wendy twice, was allegedly accosted by a short man in a white suit at the Staten Island Ferry Terminal but rescued by unidentified dock workers (from Governor's Island????), may or may not have left Wendy a note to meet her at the Terminal (Betty was not there, but a dead Dr Kinder all cut up was found).

Meanwhile, we find out that Betty is traveling back to California. She logged into her MySpace on 11/8 (her previous last login prior was 10/25). Here is a message.

okay, let me go over what happened. i was staying in my friend doug's loft slash warehouse up in the bronx. he's in berlin so it was perfect for me to hang and hide there. the only drawback was i was so alone up there. it was so creepy at night. ugh. i hated the nights. i was sure that johnson would never find me but he did. seems the "evil one" has barney's address book and he used the book to check each of our friend's places. i should have thought about that but what could i do, find someone i don't know and say "hey i'm running from the evil empire of spoocheeeee, could you let me sleep on your couch?" (i would sound so anne heche Smile

so yes they found me and they took me.

without going into the gorey details, i was tortured. i still have bruises and scabs all over my body from this. i was left in this red room for like 48 hours with no food and only a little water. this guy, mister abbott, would come in and drop the water into my mouth and laugh at me. this guy makes johnson seem sane. they played these "two minute good" videos for me but i refused to watch and then mister abbott tied me down and shot me up with something. i have no idea what happened after that.

when i came to i was at the staten island ferry and i didn't know if i was awake or in a dream. i called wendy and then mister abbott came around the corner. i ran for help and these two guys from the docks helped me (i am so gonna find them and thank them someday). i stayed on their tug boat and just floated around manhattan with them and they helped me get out of new york. these guys really are so wonderful! (and one was yes very cute) i don't know why johnson let me go and then sent shorteeeee mister abbot to find me again. the whole thing was such a nightmare. i don't know about any notes to wendy either. is wendy okay? i've missed you guys like crazy. so nice to hear you have the pieces. we will take these mother f-ers down! pardon my "french" but spoocheeeee brings out the "sailor" in me. Smile

Where did she pick up French???? At this point someone else who has a better grasp of French might be a better choice to continue this interaction with Betty. I've been using her MySpace for communication - I don't know if she is checking her yahoo email. I wonder if there is a line of French in an email would she respond accordingly.

And when did she start smoking?

Edit to add: I am not telling her anything about Patricia Moore/Cathy Kuttner. I don't trust her at this point (that French remark & the French words are very bothersome to me) and we can't afford to give Mr AJ any more suspicions about Patricia.

Needless to say this latest communiqu� leaves me uneasy. While she may need to see Peeps, we need her to not see Peeps.

There are a couple of ways we can go with this. Probably the most dangerous and least likely to work (and therefore my favorite) rests on whether or not she knows what Peeps looks like. Because, y'know, if she doesn't, then we could always wrangle up a decoy?

Another possibility is that we set up a meeting, with no intention of Peeps attending it, and we send people to follow her, to give a plausible explanation of why the meeting has to have been called off.

Or maybe someone else can come up with less duplicitous and more reasonable ideas. Wink

Ah. "Squeek". I thought it was some kind of American saying.

We could just go with "it's too dangerous". She just recently escaped and nothing says she's not being followed. Risking them both would be foolish (etc).

Yup, I knew it!! I sent a message this morning with a french saying at the end - should be interesting to read her reply.

In no way should she meet in person with Peeps - it's all a ploy to lead Mr AJ to Peeps. I like the idea of setting up the meeting and spying on her. I wish the Santa Monica Pier cam had a closer view to watch the activities. Wish it could be someplace where other players live and they could go meet with her Cool

I like the idea about not hearing back from Peeps yet. definitely should buy us some time.

Did I ever tell you that I grew up in Santa Monica? Went to McKinley and Roosevelt Elementary schools, Lincoln Jr High (I was chief lifeguard there one summer). No more family left there though (grandma died 15 years ago). Where are you staying?
