lockers in New York

Quote:
Either these locations have the cube itself, or a key to finding the cube, like, say, the key to a locker in the New York Subway.

Hey, I can't solve the puzzles but I can at least share what I know about the city. There are no public lockers in the New York Subway, Penn Station, Grand Central Station, the Public Library, any airport or, to be honest, almost every public place.

The public places that have lockers in New York that I can think of offhand are at skating rinks or pools in the city Parks.
Those places usually have signs announcing that the locks cut off if people leave them on more than one day; I've never tried it but I take their word for it.

Even before 9/11 it was nearly impossible to find places to store stuff in the City even for a little while, now it is even more difficult.

By the way weren't we told somewhere that the Cube was buried?

True we are looking for where it's buried. Awhile ago the Cube was thought to be in NYC, but since then it's probably been moved.

Also if the Cube was still in NYC, the only place it would really be buried would be in Central Park. Then again I'm not sure it actually is in New York still.

Then perhaps the Cube _is_ located in one of the "Five Finger" places.

SWEET!!!

Dude don't get your hopes up. At this point the Cube could be anywhere.

The more I think about it, the more I think it's somewhere in the UK. The data link was originally established there, and it was a UK company that The Academy contacted. Of course CT and the cube could have gone anywhere once they were here.

I know this has been talked about before, but in non-game terms Mind Candy is a UK company and was smaller at the start of the game. Assuming they placed the cube when PXC started, it is most likely that it is somewhere in the UK, if not London. Of course, they could have placed it later since there was probably no way anyone could have figured out the location early on.

So I'm aiming for a forest in the UK where it is legal to dig. Now how many places like that could there be? Very Happy

True. Let's get organized!

We each find a possible location and look there.

no UK for you!!!

the british 3P told V that his system didnt work "here" (whereever they are looking for the cube) and he had to rebuild it from the soccets up.

Hey someone has to find the Cube eventually don't they? I say keep hoping!

I do think we have narrowed down a number of places where the Cube is not so it isn't correct to say it could be anywhere. Right now the most likely theories are focusing on places where it would have been cold when CT arrived after the Cube was stolen, and where people speak English. I'm not saying the Cube is in New York but the most likely guess of where CT first arrived is Manhattan. Whether CT stayed in NY or not is open to question as it sounds that CT definitely had tickets to go somewhere.

Using the five fingered plan - we have the probablity of the Northern Hemisphere and the UK as the most likely "realm."

BTW: I think Dark Human was smart to correlate the five fingered plan with the 5 flash files posted by CT.

Having a really bad nights sleep makes the mind think wierd things!

I have to agree with Dark Human on the Northern Hemisphere but this is when the weirdness kicks in (well at 3am it does anyways!)

If we had solved the beal cipher on secret location at launch then the library must have been around at launch. Assuming we were meant to put together the cipher, the name of the card and CT and discover the "secret location" based on books - link to library etc - we can arrive at 1) half the world.

THen its flounder time - which one next.

If we take the second message to suggest realm then is that USA??? we have had no other clear indicators. We have been told keep it simple etc

But thats when the library becomes confusing in some repsects because the 5th meassage was more of a wake up call for us to look back to the beal cipher. so does it have something else we have missed? because five messages seems to fit 5 fingers
