Right after Hank left and his screenname came back on, I tried sending IMs. A minute ago I got a response, from a "Detective Fielding":

I've been trying to figure out this DDPD. Assuming Hank et. al. are still in or around Merritt Island (the city, not the wildlife preserve), they'd be under Brevard County jurisdiction, unless Merritt Island has it's own police dept. It might (or it might not -- it's pretty small), but that would probably be abbreviated differently.

Looking around Florida, I can't find a single municipality that would have the initials "DD." The only thing I can think of would be Department of Defense.

One possibility could be that it's an acronym for "Detective at Deland (for example) Police Department." But there's still that question of jurisdiction and there's really nowhere that close to Merritt that would even have a "D" initial.

So I think one thing we should find out from Det. Fielding before answering his question is who he(?) works for.

Not to be too gloomy on the subject, but we also have to remember that John was not all too happy with Hank, and if there is a detective working on this case, they might drag John in for questioning. Plus, we have Bryan coming into town (or possibly is already in town) and meeting with Hank tomorrow. Unless Bryan knows what Hank looks like, I say we have John go meet with Bryan and pose as Hank, or have John meet with Bryan and let him know the new. I don't really know where to go from this point ...

But, consider this:

If Bryan is supposed to meet with Hank, and it was fully planned before hand to the point where a time and place is set, then Bryan would definitely be at that Cafe at the time specified. Now, if Kendra or John or the Detective (or maybe all three, I don't know) go to that cafe and he doesn't show, this could be a sign that Bryan is:

A) Dead as well
B) Missing as well
or C) The suspect, and since he knew Hank has been taken care of, there would be no need to meet with someone who WON'T be there.

Then again, I could be chasing wrong leads.

I hope you guys aren't this loose lipped with real police officers. Even my IG self doesn't want to trust this pig. (excuse my name calling, I neither like nor trust police officers) I'm not just being paranoid, I'm being Lawyer-ey. Watch what you say to this detective. He's looking for someone to blame, that's his job. be careful!

And also, I'd have to agree with Daikah. They're more likely to suspect John, a close personal friend, than a stranger. We need to make sure we don't accidentally offer John up as a murderer.
