i've also been talking to Foo and i just received this email

this was the response to my question to him on what security measures he taking to protect himself and his findings.

my question is who or what is MONTREAL?

Sorry about revealing the backdoor to Brackin. Guess I got caught up in my first character interactions but from his response, he has no access to it anyhow. I'll be sure to be more careful about what I reveal.

ok I asked a mod (Rowan) to let us have seperate threads for the Foos and the Brackins. He moved us to potential. I made a thread for the Foos to post and another for the Brackins to post. Please take time to thank Rowan. On the last game I played I think the page count was near 20 before it got moved here... thanks...Wabonan

So, we are going to consider the information in the Foo and Brackin threads to be off-limits to those on the other side, as far as the sharing of that information with in-game characters is concerned, correct? But the viewing of information should be ok?

No info found here should be shared... These forums are OOG. Any info found elsewhere is cool to give to anyone,,, That is why we got into potential.. Basically meaning, if you find posts on this forum that say that someone's being a traitor to Foo, you wouldn't tell Foo, unless you could find good evidence elsewhere?

We can share information with each other.

But what we shouldn't do is use information that we get *here* in an in-game way.

For example, Brackin wants people to spy on Foo, gain his trust, etc. etc. But if the Brackin followers just stole information from the Foo thread/s, it wouldn't be as fun as building up Foo's trust, extracting the information somehow, etc. etc.

It makes sense to me. Brackin's followers aren't supposed to easily be able to get information from Foo's, and vice versa. But with the nature of the forum, we can.

ah, thanks Mindez, I think I've got it.

So, basically this is more of a twist on a good cop/bad cop routine where you're just playing both the characters. And not telling either of them what they really want to know - just giving them enough to keep them talking to you.

The seperate threads aren't seperate "you play here" and "you play here" threads but more we've learned "this from this character" and "this from this character"
