No one is censoring you. I have no idea what Jamesi's intended meaning by "it's in the back end" was, however, I have gone through the ARGNet MovableType backend to look for your comment:

It is not in the hold pile.
It is not in the junk pile.
It was, according to the activity logs, neither recorded nor deleted.
ARGNet.com, as far as I can deduce, does not have your comment nor any record of it ever existing.

As you stated, you received an error message when you attempted to post your comment. I'm sorry I don't have an explanation for you as to why that occurred, but I can quite positively assure you that your comment not appearing on ARGNet is in no way related to its content, nor any nefarious misdeeds on the part of the staff. It appears to be a software/server issues, but beyond that deduction, I can offer no other explanation.

You are MORE than welcome to post a comment - they remain open on this article. I cannot guarantee that you won't get another error message because I, again, have no idea what caused it in the first place. If you DO get an error message, please let us know what it says so that we may try to rectify the problem for you and our other readers. If you can't get a comment through the MT system, then please, feel free to contact ARGNet through our Contact Page and address your concerns through that avenue.

I apologize for the confusion.

I just ran a test comment to see what happens. This time i did not get the error message but instead I got the following. So, I assume the problem is fixed.

Quote:
Thank You for Commenting

Your comment has been received. To protect against malicious comments, I have enabled a feature that allows your comments to be held for approval the first time you post a comment. I'll approve your comment when convenient; there is no need to re-post your comment. Return to the comment page

Feel free to delete the test comment it you want.

Yes, that is the normal "positive" message for comments. It did make it to MT database, and I do see it in all the right places in the software backend. I'm glad the error isn't recurrent. Please let us know if you have any further problems. The comment page on ARGNet works via an email system and is not dependent on MT and, usually Wink, always works.

I apologize, I should have been more clear about something. When I said that "it" shows up in the backend, I meant "the comment" and not "your comment". Meaning, I did a test and it worked quite fine, "the comment" ended up in the backend as it should.

Frankly, Sylvia, your tone is appalling to me. To think that I need to "cover my ass" for anything that has transpired in the last few days is about the last thought that would run through my mind. Cover my ass? What would I need to cover my ass about, exactly?

Then I guess we both misread each other because i took this as being sarcastic.

Um. Hmm. The backend... Well, ARGNet is published using Movable Type publishing software. We have installed features in that software to enable commenting on articles, but only for a limited amount of time, and only on approval by TPTB. So, when John or Jane Doe fills in a comment and submits it (and, hopefully, doesn't receive an error message, as you have stated happened to you) we see the comment in our administration section and then have the choice on whether to publish it or not. This eliminates comments full of spam or bad language.

I hope you feel enlightened by this. Very Happy

Yeah, you absolutely did. I was trying to answer your question in a helpful way.
