on the picture 'unlock' it says;

Quote:
Inside the envelope I found these items:

1. The piece of paper with pink numbers. (see the other photo labeled pinknumbersfromenvelope)

2. a cd with a pink label : THE KEEPER

This jpg of the lock and the jpg of the key pad were the only items on this cd. Could you tell me what this is about? This is all very mysterious. Was Mr. Paul Foucher a spy or something?

The titles on these two photos are the same titles they had on the cd.

It might become uncomfortable for me due to the fact that Mr. Foucher, I hate to admit, has introduced many of his associates to his mistress and called her his "wife" for all these years.

Ha! I kinda figured Mr Alan Johnson would be going after the mistress who is probably still in Chicago with Paul.

Changed the numbers into letters:

Code:

Change the letters into numbers:

Code:

3  7  5  7
8  4  8  3  4
8  5     5  2
4  4  6  3  6

I got this from Russell on Flickr mail:

Quote:
Dashcat,

Can you tell me what this is all about? Mrs. Foucher tells me you are putting together an art project. Pardon me, but a key pad code on a box and this mysterious envelope seem extreme for a simple piece of clay. Is this some famous piece of art? Is it stolen or something along those lines? Or are you an international spy? Smile Was Mr. Foucher a spy? Smile

Russell

We need to tell him something. He is helping us after all. I don't think we can tell him about spoocheeeee though.

As i said in chat, I suggest no-one sends a reply until we decide what we're gonna say, as if we all say different stories, he'll get suspicious.

I say we go with stolen. AJ stole it. Paul was keeping it for him. Please don't tell Helen that her husband is an even bigger bastard than she already imagines he might be. We are trying to return it to its owners. Maybe the owner could be a university in Chicago?

Ok I wrote this but haven't sent it. If you don't like it we'll try something else

Quote:
Dear Russell,

Yes the piece is stolen. Mr. Alan Johnson stole the piece from a University I can't name. He gave the piece to Paul Foucher to keep for him. At this time we don't know if Paul was aware that the piece was stolen.
Right now the piece really does have only historical value but if it fits with other pieces the university has it could become very valuable. Think Rosetta Stone. It might unlock heretofore untranslatable ancient languages. This is very exciting!
Alan Johnson is not a nice man and Mrs. Foucher could be in danger if he knew she had this piece, you too for that matter. Mrs. Foucher trusts you and so I am trusting you too. If you care for her as much as I hope you do, you will help us get this piece back to where it belongs and far away from Mrs. Foucher.

Thanks to Driz, I've reconsidered this approach. Maybe we need to know more about Russell.

I sent an email to Russell asking if he was the one who created Helen's blog page and left the hidden message that took us to Itisthedoorway.blog. This is his reply:

Quote:
Hi Dashcat,

I did post the Waltz page for Mrs. Foucher. Mrs. Foucher
knows nothing about the highlighting of the words "It is
the doorway". Look, I received a telephone call from Mr.
Paul Foucher's lawyer several days before those two hundred
boxes arrived. The lawyer told me he was sending me a
package and sternly advised me to open it immediately upon
its arrival. The package arrived. Inside I found
instructions and a very large check. The instructions
directed me to post those numbers and high-light those
specific words on Mrs. Paul Foucher's page. They also
instructed me to include the words "pound trickle trickle"
in the template. There was one more note. It said, "Now
forget you ever saw or did any of this." It was all so
strange but I did it, the check was a big incentive. Have
I broken the law or something? What's going on?

The words POUND TRICKLE TRICKLE are in there, with HIT left over.

Maybe it's a step closer to a solve.

We have to hurry up!!!!

Mrs Paul Foucher wrote:
My dear Heather,
Russell and I are being bombarded with a ringing telephone! The telephone has not stopped ringing now for twenty minutes! Mr. Paul Foucher's very rude lawyer telephoned twenty minutes ago asking about box 1984. He told me to expect a call very soon from a Mr. Alan Johnson. Mr. Foucher's lawyer was terribly rude with me and I hung up on him. He seemed very worried that I should get this box immediately to this Mr. Alan Johnson. Should I pick up the telephone and give them the location of the box? I was tempted to tell him I was donating this piece of ceramics to your art project, but I could tell by the tone of the one-sided conversation that this may be about something other than art. Is there something I should know about this box 1984, Heather? Russell is calling out. He wants to know if you have the combination for this keypad yet.

Best wishes,

Mrs. Paul Foucher

I have sent this off to buy us some time until someone can figure out for sure what code to send to Russell.

May I suggest you instruct Russell to notify the lawyer that the box
has already been sent express mail to the US. You never opened the
box, you have no idea what is in the box, and you have no idea why
anyone wants this box. If he feel pressured, you can say it was sent
to NYC.
We're working on the combination and then I understand he is going to
bring it to Jenna for safekeeping - and she will know how to keep it
hidden away from Mr Alan Johnson and get it back to the museum where
it belongs. He is an angry sadistic man who wants to destroy a
valuable piece of art history out of spite.
Myself or my collegues will be in touch soon. Meanwhile, you could
try turning the ringer off on your phone?
Hugs,
Heather

I received this:

Quote:
My dear Dashcat, I hope you receive this note soon! Mr. Foucher's lawyer telephoned about one half hour ago about this box 1984! He and I had words and I hung up on him! He was terribly rude with me! Now the telephone has not stopped ringing since! Russell and I are losing our minds! ...The ringing has just now stopped. What a relief! My dear Russell unplugged the telephone! I have been in such a state I had not thought to do that! Thank goodness for Russell!

What do we do? Could you please tell me why there is such an urgency around this piece of clay, Dashcat? You are my friend. Please be honest with me. I expect it from you, my dear.

And this from Russell:

Quote:
Re: Mrs Foucher and the box 1984

Dashcat,
The telephone rang about ten minutes ago. It was Mr. Paul
Foucher's lawyer asking about box 1984. He told Mrs.
Foucher to expect a telephone call from Mr. Alan Johnson
very soon. Mrs. Foucher yelled at the lawyer for handing
out her telephone number to a complete stranger and went on
to told him he was rude and a brute and then she hung up.
The phone keeps ringing. We are not picking up. What
should we do?

Russell

I have no idea what to do.

I just received this from jean Moulin:

Quote:
Hello to you again my dashing Dashcat! We must warn Mrs. Paul Foucher immediately! What can we say to her? Perhaps now we must tell her the truth. Eh? I am only concerned about her health. I wish to not make her sick with the worrying but I do not want Spoocheeeee at her door! That would be deadly! Let us tell her gently but quickly! Let us tell Russell to take Mrs. Paul Foucher to a nearby hotel for safe keeping! Tell him to bring the computer with them to stay in touch. Then tell Russell to remove this big box from storage to a place the Spoocheeeee Jackals will not find it! This will buy us the time we need to crack the code! Eh? How handsome am I, Dashcat, when I make the difficult decisions?! I am so brave and so handsome right now! It is hard for me not get up from my seat and gaze into my mirror. I will remain here for you! I am humble.

I am also the One and the Only
Jean Moulin

So I sent this to Helen. Its a little lame but it did the trick:

Quote:
Dear Mrs. Foucher,

I am so sorry to bring this trouble to your door. Its a long and convoluted story and we don't have time for all the details but I will tell you what I can. Your husband belongs to an organization that has caused a lot of damage and pain in the world. When he was active he held the position of Elder, something like being on the Board of Trustees. Mr. Alan Johnson is the leader of this organization, something like the President or CEO. Mr. Alan Johnson is an evil and dangerous man.

I belong to a group who is trying to stop this organization. A month ago five of our members were kidnapped on the orders of Mr. Alan Johnson. They are being held in a freight box! One of them is a child of 14.

Our only hope of rescuing them is to obtain the five pieces of an ancient relic that is precious to them. We will then be able to bargain for our friends. We will trade their relic for our friends.

These are dangerous people Mrs. Foucher. You must leave your house. I am so sorry to bring danger to your door but it is on the way. You must have Russell take you to a hotel as soon as possible. I've written to Russell about this already. You may be very angry with me but don't let that stop you from leaving. You must get out of your house.

I will talk to you again when you are settled into your hotel.

She replied:

Quote:
My dear Dashcat, It is not you that has brought this danger to me. It is Mr. Paul Foucher. As convoluted as it does sound, I do believe you about this evil organization. I had always wondered about Mr. Foucher's business and his secret ways. Does it surprise me? Not really. I'm certain there is much going on in our world that I am not privy to.

Russell is packing for me as I type this note. He is now more worried than I. Funny twist of fate, isn't it? I must step out my front door to avoid danger. This will be difficult but I have made up my mind to do it. Russell told me he will carry me out if I faint again. I will write to you when we are settled into our hotel.

Best wishes,

Mrs. Paul Foucher

I guess we should have compared notes, dash. I was going off the previous posted items to continue the story of the art piece. I didn't know you were going to tell her the truth. Sorry.

As it is, she forgives me for any deception.
Mrs Foucher at 9am wrote:
My dear Heather,

Russell did just that! He turned off the telephone! Of course we ran around like silly hens until it dawned on us, or rather Russell, to do just that! He unplugged the telephone line! What a relief!

It will be my pleasure to send this lawyer and his friend, Mr. Alan Johnson onto a wild goose chase! I cannot tolerate such rude behavior from such a brute of a young man. What has happened to people? Where are their manners? It has been delightful to have met you and your friends. You may have been deceptive, but you all have lovely manners.

As soon as you young people have this combination, please send it along to Russell or me. I will have Russell retrieve it and hand it over to dear Jenna.

I must go now and have a cup of tea. It will settle my nerves. You have a cup too, Heather. It will calm any worries.

Best wishes,

Mrs. Paul Foucher

I just received this from Russell:

Quote:

Dashcat,

Mrs. Foucher and I are settled in at the Grosvenor House
Hotel. We checked in under another name for safety's sake.
Mrs. Foucher did very well today. She walked out the front
door with her chin up. When she reached the bottom of the
front steps she sighed and smiled and said, "My new friend
Dashcat will be so pleased to hear I made it out." She has
really taking a liking to you. Its nice to see her engaged
with people again. (even if the circumstances are quite
strange)

This box 1984 is large. I hired two men from the street to
help me move it from the storage unit and onto the back of
my cousin Lawrence's truck. Lawrence and I put it in his
garage. I'm sure they won't find it there.

Please let me know when I should try a combination. I will
be up late. I don't think I'll be falling asleep too early
tonight with all this going on. Mrs. Foucher is already
sound asleep. Today was a big day for her. On the way to
the hotel, she had the taxi drive by the theatre where Les
Miz is playing. I'm going to speak with the concierge and
see if we can get two tickets for this weekend and surprise
her with them. The tickets will be expensive, but I have
that money from the lawyer, and this would be a good way to
spend it.

Russell

Kona, I'm sorry about the mix up in stories. She asked me for the truth and I just couldn't lie to her. I asked Jean about telling her the real story and I posted what he replied. Sooo, we went with a not so crazy version of the truth. I will be so happy when we get this piece.

I went ahead and sent Russell what we know so far about the code.
I asked for pictures of the box or any other information he could give us about it, too.
After my name on the email, I wrote: r u a sammeeeee.
I'm just so curious to know if he recognizes that. Smile

edit:
Quote:
Re: From a friend of Dashcat, Heather and Jenna.
Drizabella,

I wrote to Dashcat about a half hour ago. We are safe. We've checked into a hotel under fake names. My cousin, Lawrence, is helping us. He gave me an identification card and credit card for the room. He and I have different last names, so I believe we are quite "under cover". Mrs. Foucher has just gone back to bed. She is exhausted from today.

The box 1984 has been moved from storage into Lawrence's garage. It seemed to me the safest place I could come up with. The garage is quite far from here but I can go tomorrow and get a picture if you still need it. I can describe it for you. It is a plain numeral key pad. There are the numbers 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9. The number 1 has been removed from the key pad. There is one pound "key" and one pink light that is flashing.

May I suggest something? It seems to me it must be either the # key and then the numbers that correspond with the one word "trickle" or the two words "trickletrickle". I could attempt # 8742553 and if I hear a click or if the pink light stops blinking I know to stop. If it continues to blink or if I don't have any signal that it is open, I will quickly add on the additional 8742552. Tell me if you would like me to attempt this. I am ready to go. Mrs. Foucher is safe here. She loves this hotel.
I do have one worry. The blinking pink light. You don't suppose it is an explosive device or something along those lines? I know I must sound like a 007 wanna be. It is late and I've had quite a day. Please let me know what you would like me to do. One more thing, what does that mean after your name "r u a sammeeeee"?
Russell

What I sent:
Quote:
From a friend of Dashcat, Heather and Jenna.
Hello Russell,
I hope with all my heart that both you and Mrs. Foucher are safely away from her residence without incident.
I apologize for sending this message at such a late hour there.

Allow me to introduce myself. I am one of the many friends of Dashcat, Heather and Jenna; who have been trying to work out this very mysterious code to unlock the box.
I am writing to share with you what we have, so far, figured out.
The number grid, when converted to letters in the alphabet, spell out HIT POUND TRICKLE TRICKLE. The same pound trickle trickle that you were asked to put into the template of itisthedoorway.blogspot.com/.
This sounds like instructions to hit the keypad "pound" or # sign and then something more.
The keypad picture that was on the CD labeled THE KEEPER, says ONLY ONCE. Now we are not certain what that means. Could it be that we only have one chance to try a combination? Or could it mean to use TRICKLE just a single time?
TRICKLE would convert to the numbers 8 7 4 2 5 5 3 on the keypad. Could this be the combination we seek? We aren't sure.

Is there anything more you can tell us about the box itself; what it looks like, what kind of lock is on it, or perhaps take a few pictures of it for us to see?

Please send along my fondest regards to Mrs. Foucher. And thank you, sir, for all your help in this matter.

Sincerely,
Drizabella Juniorini

"007 wanna be"...heheh
ut oh, a flashing pink light...that can't be good. Shocked
Should we tell him go ahead and do it?
