A phone, a passport and an envelope?

EDIT - And Sente is in a business suit in the picture too...

By golly, you're right. It's all there:

Envelope=right side manilla envelope.
Picture of someone in a suit=Sente pic
Passport=left side (Can anybody get a picture of a laisser-passer to compare?)
Phone=At the top left corner of the card

Could it be that CT got a pack of Perplex City cards?

[SUPER-SPEC]
The numbers given in the animation range from 2 to 8

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

"Ask the simple questions first" from letters=Early cards
Early cards=answers from early cards are needed letters?

Perhaps a match up then:

WARNING: Card Answers Within
Spoiler (Rollover to View):

Card #2=Designer Flakes
Answer:1-A, 2-E, 3-F, 4-B, 5-C, 6-D

Card #3=Earth, Sea and Moon
Answer=Journey to the Center of the Earth

Card #4=Zoo Zanyum
Answer=elephant, giraffe, lion, monkey, polar bear, snake, zebra

Card #5=Out On a Limb
Answer=The Lorax

Card #6=Winning Lines
Answer=1-Italian, 2-Spanish, 3-Dutch, 4-French, 5-German, 6-Swedish

Card #7=Aromarama
Answer=1-Coconut, 2-Mint, 3-Banana, 4-Chocolate

Card #8=Mind Candy
Answer=
A- DAN HON, B - MICHAEL SMITH C - ADRIAN HON D - HANNAH BORASTER E - PAUL MCCORMICK F - ANDREA PHILLIPS G - ADAM MARTIN H - MIKE WHITAKER I - FIONA SILK J - NAOMI ALDERMAN K - JACK DIXON L - DAVE BLAKE M - DAVID VARELA N - JEY BIDDULPH

Perhaps the numbers refer to various letters that spell out important words...

Major spec here!

Didn't someone give the model of the "phone" at the top of the card? I thought it was a smart phone...

Well, if that's Ct's passport on the back of the cards, then he went to Japan.

Look at the lower immigration stamp. It's the same as on the back of the PXc cards.

He was in Japan in 1998?

Nevermind, I see what you're saying...the one on the cards don't expose the date.

What's the significance, if any, of "be patient, this may take a while?" A clue to solving the puzzle, perhaps?

Perhaps. Or possibly just a "this may take a while to load" warning for those on slow connections... I'm going with Occam on this one Smile

Transporter accident

Hi all.

The operation of the cube reminds me of the Star Trek transporter. In at least one episode, the transporter did not *move* a character, it *copied* him (Riker, TNG, later showed up in DS9). Could CT be a 'copy' of someone who still lives in PXC?

Sign suffix

Every number pair appears an even number of times, and each pair is followed by a '+' sign the same number of times the pair is followed by a '-' sign. So, for every "( 7 , 8 ) +" there's a "( 7 , 8 ) -", etc.. This, and the fact that there's a sign at the end of the list, leads me to believe the signs are more associated with the pair *previous* than the pair *following*. It also means, if + means forward and - means backward, and the pairs are ( x , y ) coordinates, the overall sum is ( 0 , 0 ) , i.e. you will end up exactly where you started if you follow these directions. (Actually, you end up where you started a few times during the trip.)

OK, here's a plot of the numbers as a path. Basically (having picked a scale) you use the first number to go along and the second to go up (standard xy stuff) and + to go forwards and - to go back (more standard stuff). Two -s make a +. If you can make anything out of this I'll be impressed.

ok, here are my thoughts. I like the paths, i think that it might have to do with the answer. When he was handed the passport, the language it was in sounded like french. Perhaps we have to transpose that path onto a world map with france and it points to where the cube is?

Or, he said he dreamed of wandering the streets of Perplex City. I dont have a map of perplexcity, or enough cards to form one, but maybe the coordinates corespond to what streets he wandered down. I dont have a map but like, (7,7) corner of two streets, and + means going up and - means backtracking. Just a thought

I'm still on this line of thought, although not geting too far with it just yet...

Still, you can find one map of PXC at http://www.perplexcitymap.com/, and another which was used for the aero-doodad thingy over at http://stuff.perplexcitymap.com/aeromap.png.

I figure these might come in handy to people with some time Smile I've tried trying to fit the paths I posted before on to the second map, but can't see any obvious way (but I might be being thick here...)

It's made more difficult because I'm not sure if the (7,4) co-ords refer to constant units (as the plots in this thread so far assume), or something else such as street turnings (i.e. 4 streets across in one place may differ width-wise to 4 streets across somewhere else)... If it's related to roads, then the former seems more likely.

*laughs*

Yeah, Canadian Government has about the same sad mix of intelligence vs. ignorance as most...
But I think you are misinterpretting the format (unwieldy as it is) of the folders... The open folder (Page 1) is not identified as such. Click on the (+) beside the folder just above Page 2 and you get some confirmation.
